Kane Lim and Chrishell Stause

Kane Lim of Netflix’s Bling Empire, now filming seasons 2 and 3, is selling his stunning Northeast home in LA. With plaster and light oak wood incorporated throughout the house’s design, the property reflects the ideal peaceful California lifestyle. The home originally designed in midcentury style has now seamlessly incorporated a new style, some elements with Japanese and Scandinavian influence, brought to life by Only Way Is Up (OWIU) architectural firm.

The recently listed celebrity property is represented by Yonathan Canete Baltazar of The Agency alongside Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause of The Oppenheim Group who has sold several celebrity homes throughout the Netflix series. Currently listed at $1.8M, the stylish residence offers plenty of space throughout the three bedrooms and two bedrooms while allowing for combined indoor-outdoor living.

When asked about the difference between selling a celebrities home and normal real estate, Yonathan told Haute Residence that "There’s definitely way more attention and focus on who the seller is, but the sale process is the same, providing exceptional service is and always will be at the center for me.”

Within the primary suite, potential buyers will find built-in wardrobes, lovely views, and a thoughtfully designed bathroom that flows into the home’s outdoor oasis. Aside from the visually appealing minimalistic design, the property offers a desirable location close to Highland Park and Mount Washington Elementary. With the latest season of Selling Sunset coming out next week, we can expect to see plenty more stunning homes in the L.A. area represented by Chrishell Stause.

Haute Residence asked Kane Lim why he chose to work with Chrishell and Yonathan. “Yonathan has a lot of knowledge in that area of real estate. He’s a young and aspiring agent and he financed the house, so it’s fair that we share the profits together," he said. "I’m on Bling Empire and Chrishell is on Selling Sunset, and since we’re on the same Netflix network, I thought it would be good to power up and have the three of us market it together. Yes, it’s a smaller property than usual, but there is so much strength in building hype. Chrishell, Yonathan, and I had so much fun doing the campaign and there were a lot of synergies together.”

Chasity recently spoke to Haute Design about the opportunity Riese Design was given to participate in the hit TV show, George to the Rescue.

Haute Design: Congratulations on the big TV announcement! Tell us a little bit about how this came about. When were you working on these projects and filming the series?

Chasity Centeno: NBC reached out to me directly, about six years ago, when I first started. I am currently filming my eighth episode. We recently filmed 'Maggie's Mission' in the summer, while simultaneously juggling about 15 clients. We usually do one a year but this year we had the honor and pleasure of filming three episodes. One episode was filmed in the winter, and the other two were filmed in the summer and fall, respectively.

HD: For those who might not be aware of George to the Rescue, could you briefly explain the premise of the show?

CC: George to the Rescue is a home improvement show, which airs on NBC, and focuses on home renovations and makeovers for deserving families. Contractors, designers and tradespeople alike, donate their services to help out for the greater good of the family, with one main goal in mind - providing a space that heightens the functionality of the home by accommodating the corresponding family's wants and needs.

HD: Was this one of the more gratifying experiences of your career?

CC: Each and every episode that I work on, and the families I help, are gratifying all the same. Design is more than just making a space pretty. Design is about changing someone's life for the better, in the most important place they could ever be - their home.

HD: How much did these projects differ from your other projects?

CC: The scope of the project wasn't all that different from other projects that I take on. The biggest difference is the timeline where we squeeze what would be a three-month project into about four weeks. All the products need to be purchased, inspected, delivered, designed and installed in about a month's timeframe from start to finish.

HD: How and when can we tune in to watch the episodes?

CC: The next episode will air Saturday, October 9th, at 9:30am and 7pm ET in the greater New York area on NBC. The show is nationally syndicated. Our 8th episode, which we are filming this fall, is set to air in the Spring of 2022.

HD: Would you be willing to do more television appearances on similar programs?

CC: Yes, as long as it is for a good cause!

HD: What was your biggest takeaway from this experience?

CC: The reward you get from helping someone is not always about a dollar sign, it's more about what's at the heart of why you do what you do.

In 2020, when all of us were stuck inside staring at the four walls of our home, Netflix came out with another organizational show called Get Organized with The Home Edit. Based on the extremely popular Instagram page, The Home Edit follows professional organizers, Joanna Teplin and Clea Shearer, as they organize client’s homes for $250 an hour. Clients include everyday people, along with A-list celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Neil Patrick Harris, and Khloe Kardashian. 

Now, inevitably, there is a vast difference between the organizing project of a Kardashian versus a family in Atlanta, but there are still tips that can apply across the board. The Home Edit comes in with a team of helpers and takes a disaster of a room and turns it into an organized and aesthetically pleasing place. Armed with boxes from the container store and witty banter, these women transform a space in a fraction of the time it would take you or me.

The Home Edit is an organizational company that was founded in 2015. Since then the company has grown exponentially, most in part to its Instagram page. The page has picture upon picture of aesthetically pleasing organized homes and helps every person aspire to reach a high level of organization. The two women formed the business within 12 hours of meeting each other, and over the past 6 years have built a home organizing empire. They have worked with the hottest celebs, published a book, and now have their own tv show on Netflix. Though their organizational style isn’t for everyone, there are lessons that everyone can relate to on the show and maybe inspire you to tackle an organizational project in your home as well.

HGTV’s Design Star was a popular tv show from 2006 - 2013 where contestants tackled different design challenges for a chance to win their own HGTV show. Now, HGTV and Discovery + have given the show new life and revived it as Design Star: Next Gen. 

This reboot will feature 8 designers vying for the $50,000 cash prize and a shot at their own show. The head judge is renowned interior designer Jonathan Adler who is joined by designer Lauren Makk and a myriad of other celebrity guests throughout. 

“Lots of designers and home renovators tell us they dream about having their own show on HGTV,” said Loren Ruch, group senior vice president, programming and development, HGTV. “For the ones selected to be on Design Star: NextGen, their lives are about to change in ways they can’t imagine. This series will provide a once-in-a-lifetime showcase for their talent and creativity. It will raise their national visibility, multiply their business opportunities and boost their status as social media influencers.”

The contestants include designers, renovators, and social media brand-builders including Haute Design Network’s own Chris Goddard of Goddard Design Group! Chris has over 25 years of design experience and is the principal designer of Goddard Design Group, based in Springdale, Arkansas. 

“I have been asked why in the world an established designer would do this show," says Goddard. "And my answer is: Why not! I viewed it as a chance to push myself out of my comfort zone and reconnect with the reason I became a designer.”

The design challenges are meant to stretch the designers to their limits, and for them to create something that showcases their unique style and brand. The show is six episodes long, hosted by Allison Hoker Boss, as well as sponsored by Wayfair. 

The show also filmed during the pandemic but created a unique way to keep everyone safe. The show built a community known as the Design Hub, which was "isolated and customized" and was the only location where the show was filmed. Each contestant had their own house design space which they redesigned every week to reflect the weekly challenge. There was also a design studio, construction space, and fully stocked furniture and styling warehouse provided by Wayfair. 

The first episode premiered on February 24 and will be released weekly on Discovery +.
