Kane Lim of Netflix’s Bling Empire, now filming seasons 2 and 3, is selling his stunning Northeast home in LA. With plaster and light oak wood incorporated throughout the house’s design, the property reflects the ideal peaceful California lifestyle. The home originally designed in midcentury style has now seamlessly incorporated a new style, some elements with Japanese and Scandinavian influence, brought to life by Only Way Is Up (OWIU) architectural firm.

The recently listed celebrity property is represented by Yonathan Canete Baltazar of The Agency alongside Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause of The Oppenheim Group who has sold several celebrity homes throughout the Netflix series. Currently listed at $1.8M, the stylish residence offers plenty of space throughout the three bedrooms and two bedrooms while allowing for combined indoor-outdoor living.

When asked about the difference between selling a celebrities home and normal real estate, Yonathan told Haute Residence that "There’s definitely way more attention and focus on who the seller is, but the sale process is the same, providing exceptional service is and always will be at the center for me.”

Each bedroom is a tranquil space of its own. Within the primary suite, potential buyers will find built-in wardrobes, lovely views, and a thoughtfully designed bathroom that flows into the home’s outdoor oasis. The property’s interior features a sleek kitchen with smart LG matte black appliances and Brizo fixtures leading into the elegant living room flooded with natural light. Outdoors, the house features a Japanese garden with lovely bonsai and maple trees along with benching surrounding a cozy fire pit situated in a large open space.

Aside from the visually appealing minimalistic design, the property offers a desirable location close to Highland Park and Mount Washington Elementary. With the latest season of Selling Sunset coming out next week, we can expect to see plenty more stunning homes in the L.A. area represented by Chrishell Stause.

Haute Residence asked Kane Lim why he chose to work with Chrishell and Yonathan. “Yonathan has a lot of knowledge in that area of real estate. He’s a young and aspiring agent and he financed the house, so it’s fair that we share the profits together," he said. "I’m on Bling Empire and Chrishell is on Selling Sunset, and since we’re on the same Netflix network, I thought it would be good to power up and have the three of us market it together. Yes, it’s a smaller property than usual, but there is so much strength in building hype. Chrishell, Yonathan, and I had so much fun doing the campaign and there were a lot of synergies together.”

If you’re interested in this particular residence, there are three open houses taking place over the next week to explore the property.

Based on the iconic “Karate Kid” film series, “Cobra Kai” is a modernized version of its source inspiration as a martial arts comedy drama with fresh faces but also stars original cast members Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. The successful YouTube turned Netflix series has been making news with the renewal of its fifth season and is now offering fans a glimpse into the Karate world with a fictional residence from the show now available as a real-life rental. The family home of Ralph Macchio’s character, Daniel LaRusso, was featured in seasons one through three and in real life, the property located in suburban Marietta, Georgia. Recently, the residence was listed on the market at $2.4 million and now, it is reported that the new owners will rent out the mansion as an Airbnb. Although details specific to the Airbnb residence is not publicly available yet, nearby properties are often rented at a range from $99 to $2,700. In regards to this home, listing broker Chad Carrodus claimed, “The Karate Kid/Cobra Kai franchise is multigenerational and has such a passionate fanbase. People come from across the world to see the LaRusso Mansion.”

Built in 2008, this iconic cinematic residence is a Mediterranean-style mansion offering 9,200-square-feet. The interior layout features six bedrooms and six baths, one uniquely reminiscent of Roman ruins. The kitchen was highlighted in season three of “Cobra Kai” in a scene when Daniel (Ralph Macchio) helps his daughter, Sam (Mary Mouser), with her PTSD. The same fully equipped arrangement remains with a Wolf stove, 48-inch subzero refrigerator, two Bosch dishwashers, and a wood fire pizza oven. The lavish space also boasts a “man cave,” au pair suite, wet bar, and three fireplaces. Structural elements of the home that also offer aesthetic notes include a terra-cotta roof, two-story glass atrium, cathedral ceilings, and arched windows and doorways. Stepping outside, the exterior highlights a hot tub, al fresco dining area, outdoor fireplace, and koi pond. Additionally, the lush landscape features a greenhouse, apple trees, fig trees, pear trees, and azaleas.

Paris Hilton, the 2000s “it girl,” is now back in the limelight with her new Netflix reality show “Cooking with Paris.” The 40-year-old great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels, is offering a glimpse into her glamorized version of domesticity with cooking sessions alongside celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Demi Lovato. In the first episode of her series, Hilton expressed her desire to start a family soon after her upcoming wedding. Since 2019, Hilton has been romantically involved with author and entrepreneur Carter Reum. The pair got engaged in February with a custom emerald-cut engagement ring. Following an extravagant 10-outfit wedding ceremony, Hilton states, “I feel like I’ve been living like a 21-year-old for my entire life, and now I’m ready to move on.”

Evolving from her self-invented “Barbie airhead” persona, Hilton is prepared to settle down and lead a more simple lifestyle. The socialite and her new fiancé recently purchased an intended permanent residence together. Their newfound abode is a Malibu mansion in California previously owned by the late Universal Pictures former chairman Tom Pollock. The seaside property was sold for $8.4 million and Chris Cortazzo of Compass represented both the buyer and the seller in this deal.

Built in 1955, Hilton’s newly acquired abode boasts three bedrooms and three baths. The interior features an open floor plan for an expansive and airy atmosphere. On the first floor, the layout highlights a spacious living room, media room, and dining room with fireplace. The contemporary kitchen where she has filmed “Cooking with Paris” is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, granite countertops, and sweeping ocean views. Decorative elements of the home comprise of stone tile floors and floor-to-ceiling windows spanning 3,000-square-feet for plentiful sunlight.

Upstairs, the primary suite includes wood floors, a cozy fireplace, a spa-like stone tiled bath, and two oceanfront balconies with a jacuzzi and lounge areas. The wraparound deck lined with barbecues and outdoor dining space offer a staircase that descends directly onto La Costa beach. Other luxe amenities of the Malibu home consist of a two-car garage, an outdoor shower, a walled garden, and sunrise-to-sunset oceanic scenery.

Whether you watch awards shows religiously, or would rather just research the winners on your own time after the buzz has died down, it is no secret that excitement, style, and infectious anticipation surround the awards show season. The freshly announced 73rd annual Emmy award nominees, for 2021, inspire and captivate across various arts and cultural fields, but the categories which honor outstanding production and set design most notably influence the future of interior design and dictate what is to be desired for the vigilant who possess elevated taste.

This awards season, Netflix’s original hit show Bridgerton, created by Chris Van Dusen, has secured 12 nominations and has earned its place on our metaphorical must-watch list. But the honored program is known for much more than just its plot and praise-worthy acting. With elaborate costuming, cinematographic mastery, and splendid set design by Gina Cromwell, Bridgerton lives up to its acclaim.

As we enter the post-pandemic world, reflecting upon all of the thoughtfully created, curated, and designed television that we have consumed, as well as becoming cognizant of our collective yearn for an idealized and nostalgic time throughout the trying pandemic, an emphasis on period pieces in the media is noticed and underscored. This mediated trend which turns our attention to époques like Regency-era London, with its elegant, poised, and polished dashes of finesse, is predicted to align closely with upcoming interior design fashions and techniques.

Movies, television shows, and in fact, all media forms alike, absolutely pose a huge impact on our personal taste and style. Part of the appeal of watching shows like Bridgerton, set in 1813, or mid-1900s set- The Crown and The Queen’s Gambit, which join Bridgerton in being honored as 2021 Emmy award nominees, is the impeccably detailed set which so effectively transports its audience into a romanticization of another era. Through this, we turn our focus to formerly beloved (for good reason) art, architecture, fashion, and interior design. This year, in particular, we’ve shifted to appreciate the regal and sumptuous sets of Bridgerton which, in the months to come, may continue to inspire lavish and grand entrances, coffered walls and ceilings, elaborate living areas, and of course, highly ornamented details throughout the home.

Though the rest of 2021 may not bring feather headpieces and 1800s corset-ball-gowns back into the modus operandi, we can keep a keen eye out for “Bridgerton-Esque” details and opulent color schemes which may emerge across both our living spaces and frequented establishments, alike.

In 2020, when all of us were stuck inside staring at the four walls of our home, Netflix came out with another organizational show called Get Organized with The Home Edit. Based on the extremely popular Instagram page, The Home Edit follows professional organizers, Joanna Teplin and Clea Shearer, as they organize client’s homes for $250 an hour. Clients include everyday people, along with A-list celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Neil Patrick Harris, and Khloe Kardashian.

Now, inevitably, there is a vast difference between the organizing project of a Kardashian versus a family in Atlanta, but there are still tips that can apply across the board. The Home Edit comes in with a team of helpers and takes a disaster of a room and turns it into an organized and aesthetically pleasing place. Armed with boxes from the container store and witty banter, these women transform a space in a fraction of the time it would take you or me.

The Home Edit is an organizational company that was founded in 2015. Since then the company has grown exponentially, most in part to its Instagram page. The page has picture upon picture of aesthetically pleasing organized homes and helps every person aspire to reach a high level of organization. The two women formed the business within 12 hours of meeting each other, and over the past 6 years have built a home organizing empire. They have worked with the hottest celebs, published a book, and now have their own tv show on Netflix. Though their organizational style isn’t for everyone, there are lessons that everyone can relate to on the show and maybe inspire you to tackle an organizational project in your home as well.

Karin Bohn, founder, and principal of the award-winning House of Bohn is a Canadian designer creating multi-faceted hospitality, luxury residential, commercial and retail environments. With a fearless and bold approach to design, safe is simply not an option at House of Bohn. Her modern-eclectic aesthetic is supported by a sophisticated mix of patterns and materials that come together beautifully and unexpectedly. From multi-million dollar estates to playful boutiques, Karin continuously pushes the boundaries of typical northern west-coast interior design. In addition to running her busy design firm, Karin stars in the Netflix show, Restaurants on the Edge, a docu-reality series dedicated to transforming restaurants around the world that premieres today. Haute Residence caught up with Bohn to discuss her journey in design and how her involvement with the Netflix series came about.

Was design something you were passionate about at a young age?

Yes. Ever since I was a little girl I was always very aware of space. For example, I was hyper-aware of whether people were comfortable in a space, how furniture was set up, what lighting looked like and the colors in the walls. I always thought I would become a fashion designer because I didn’t know interior design existed as a career. Until I fell into it after university and now the rest is history.

Photo Credit: marblemedia/ Restaurants On The Edge

Did you study design in school? How did you start doing it professionally?

Once I was exposed to the design world after university I enrolled in a few courses at BCIT. I had a few short work stints with firms and then very quickly went out on my own. I started my firm 11 years ago.

What led you into starting your own design business?

Ever since I was 5, I always knew that I would have my own business, so starting my firm was like second nature to me. Over the last 11 years, the business has grown to a team of 10 people with a diverse portfolio that includes residential, hospitality, restaurant and boutique commercial work.

Photo Credit: marblemedia/ Restaurants On The Edge

How did you come across being cast on this show?

I've been pursuing and working at getting a television show for YEARS. After many attempts of working with different producers and studios, I got a call one day from a producer with a new show that was going to Netflix. It combined travel, culture, food and restaurant design, and all they needed was the designer to complete the host team.

This show checked all the boxes for me, so of course, I jumped at the opportunity and we started filming only a few short months later. While I hadn't worked with Nick or Dennis prior to the show, we became fast friends and instantly bonded from being on the road together.

Photo Credit: marblemedia/ Restaurants On The Edge

What was it like working with the different restaurants?

Working with different restaurants in all of those different countries was an amazing experience. It was so much fun to get inspired by different cultures to create a design for the restaurant. Sometimes it was challenging to work in a foreign country where English is not the first language. But we made it happen.

Do you have a favorite restaurant or location you did a project for on the show?

They were all so great but I would say Austria and Hong Kong are at the top of my list.

Photo Credit: marblemedia/ Restaurants On The Edge

What do you want viewers to take away from the show?

I think this shows checks a lot of boxes. If you like travel, culture, food, and design you are going to love this show.

MK: KonMari is a lifestyle brand with a suite of products, services and content designed to help organize your home and bring joy to your life. We’re also a platform for connecting and supporting one another on our tidying journeys – which is very powerful. Everything we do is centered around the concept of sparking joy, and I think that’s what makes us special.

HL: How does growing your Certified Consultant network across so many countries’ borders feel?

MK: Right now we have over 350 certified KonMari Consultants in 40 countries – with a waitlist of thousands to join the program. The continued growth and success of such a personal offering is humbling. I’m still amazed at how many people find a sense of purpose in this work! For those unfamiliar with the program, we wrote about its beginnings and expansion here: Organize the World: Behind the Consultant Program.

HL: People are using your name as a verb to describe how they declutter, saying phrases like, “I just Kondo’d my place.” Did you ever think this could be possible?

MK: No! I never imagined this would happen. I’m still surprised – and my family is, too! Kondo is a fairly common last name in Japan – it’s like Smith in the U.S. I’ve heard of other Kondos from Japan being asked if they’re good at tidying when they travel abroad.

HL: When you were a professional tidying consultant, what was the longest time that you consulted a home? Why?

MK: Two years. My client was a very busy doctor who ran her own clinic, and we could only meet once a month. She lived in a very large three-story house, and she owned a lot of stuff. By the end of our time together her house has transformed – it was a completely different home.

HL: Your fans want to know, do you have any news on season two of “Tidying Up With Marie Kondo”?

MK: I’m excited to report that season two is in development – stay tuned!

Powder Mountain is Located Between Paradise and Eden, Utah, Is It As Good As It Sounds?

For adventure lovers looking to avoid the long lift lines and touristy hassles encountered at places like Taos and Telluride this time of year--give Powder Mountain--outside of Salt Lake City, Utah a drop-in.

North America's largest ski resort by skiable acreage is also an under the radar après playground for visitors seeking a genuine community experience.

Thought Leaders Have Been Among Powder Mountains First Home Builders

These 10,000 acres of champagne powder in the Wasatch Mountains are just minutes from the airport, but miles away from an ordinary ski resort. In fact, Powder Mountain has quickly become the select startup ski town for C-suite elites--drawing the likes of Richard Branson and Netflix CEO Reed Hastings among its early real estate investors.

"Powder Mountain’s Summit is set under a brilliant, open sky, looking out at 10,000 acres. Each home is a work of art providing a contemporary, sustainable aesthetic," says Melanie Sanchez of the Abbi Agency.

Summit at Powder Mountain is the brain-child of the four young tech entrepreneurs who founded the summit series-a networking group whose past speakers have included Amazon's Jeff Bezos and President Bill Clinton.

A Different Breed of Alpine Architecture

Contemporary sustainable homes in a heritage modern style have been designed along the slopes by leading architects such as Studio Ma, Olson Kundig and Warren Lloyd, to name a few.

Tom Buttgenbach, President and CEO of 8minute Solar Energy and a Summit Powder Mountain homeowner says, "having a home on top of a mountain with incredible views, walkable access to the heart of the village and ski-in-ski-out is unique in any ski resort," Buttgenbach especially enjoys the communal aspects available to him on Powder Mountain where "communicating with other like-minded people in this community [is] not only a smart financial investment but also an investment into intangible values for myself and my family.

With 57 new homesites available at the Overlook on Powder Mountain, Summit is hoping to attract legacy buyers looking for not just ski-in-ski-out access from their front door, but all of the inspiration and intentional community building the village has to offer.

For vacationers, Powder Mountain provides the alternative to the too-rustic log-cabins or over-crowded faux-swiss chalets that pepper the mountains of the world's most popular ski destinations. Instead, visitors here enjoy healthy food prepared by Michelin star chefs and listen to live music or TED-style speakers in one of four distinct lodges scattered about the property from the valley to the peak.

Room To Breathe And Ski With Stunning Views

Powder Mountain seeks to provide a premier powder experience by capping the number of lift tickets allowed on its nine ski lifts. Heli-skiing and cat skiing are also available along with a complimentary tour of the resort for each guest.

The Summit at Powder Mountain is an intriguing concept, combining fresh powder in a remote setting alongside powerful people and events focused on purposeful living. Will Utah's freshest tracks become the new trend in luxury getaways? Go ski for yourself.

Jerry Seinfeld, his wife Jessica, their three kids, and two dachshunds live on a 12-acre estate in East Hampton, Long Island. It's their summer house.

It's summer. Which means Jerry Seinfeld and his family are at the East Hamptons house the comedian bought from Billy Joel for $32 million in 2000.

The 12-acre estate includes a large manor house with its own pool and garden, a guest house, the main pool, a barn, and a baseball diamond that Mets fan Seinfeld added shortly after moving in. Located on Further Lane in Amagansett the property is actually located close to the Long Island house that "The Hamptons" episode on the last season of Seinfeld was filmed. Kramer got in trouble for stealing lobsters out of someone's trap on that show–wonder what real life hijinks have happened on Jerry's stretch of beach?

Jerry and Jessica frequently play host to friends and family who stay in their guest house. However, even though Jessica called their living room "party central" when InStyle stopped by for a tour in 2014, the Seinfeld's seem more like the subdued coffee talk crowd. In fact, Jerry's other successful foray into television, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee just entered its 10th season–now on Netflix.

The show is a natural fit for Jerry Seinfeld, who is a car fanatic. At one time, he was the largest private collector of vintage Porches in the world. His current collection has over 150 cars that he keeps in a custom $1.4 million garage on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

While his 22-car Hamptons garage may not be that full, the kitchen in the main house gets plenty of use. Jessica is the author of a line of successful cookbooks. Although, her culinary skills probably aren't stretched too much making Jerry's favorite dish: egg noodle mac and cheese. And all of that coffee drinking Jerry does on television? It isn't for the show. The Seinfelds have an Elektra espresso machine that gets fired up daily. One of their favorite homebrews is Black Cat espresso by Intelligentsia.

There is a staid simplicity to Jessica's home decor, "Jerry and I are the least formal people," she said in an interview a few years ago about her decorating style. Maybe the mundane is refreshing for Jerry who became the richest comedian in the world by pointing out the observational absurdities of life.

Despite the fact that Jerry once joked, "there is no such thing as fun for the whole family," the Seinfelds like to do just that: eat family meals outside under the pool pavilion or have conversations with their teenage kids indoors. For a man worth over $900 million, there seems to be a part of Jerry that never really left his humble Massapequa roots. You can picture him out on that baseball diamond tossing a ball around with his kids, pretending to be Keith Hernandez when he played for the Mets.

Jerry and Jessica have been together for 19 years and seem to balance each other out. She stays busy with her GOOD+ foundation that works to break the cycle of family poverty, while Jerry decides which rare and amusing classic car to pick up one of his comedian friends in on television. Though he obviously enjoys time alone at home, Jerry seems happiest when he's behind the wheel of a great car. He likes to say, "To live is to keep moving."
