In 1991, the poster woman of American homelife Martha Stewart purchased an East Hamptons residence for $1.7 million. The Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia founder stated that, “It was the oldest house on the block and a total wreck,” yet “[she] decided [she] had to have it.” Over the years, the property would be renovated and become her longtime vacation home. However, she is now bidding farewell to the humble abode. While the transaction is an off-market deal, it is reported that the initial asking price was listed at $8.4 million but was finalized at a whopping $16.5 million. At nearly double the asking price, Stewart has made a massive profit and left her former residence to Kenneth Lerer, the former chairman of BuzzFeed and co-founder of the Huffington Post, and his wife, interior designer Katherine Sailer.

Built in 1873, the shingled cottage has been restored and renovated into a more contemporary space while maintaining its initial charm. Stewart, well known for her design skills, claims “it’s an old-fashioned house, but it has a clean, pristine vibe.” Although not much is known regarding the interior layout of the home, decorative elements include unique pieces acquired from various yard sales and consignment stores. With its original paneling and built-ins, the lovely vacation home features a glass-enclosed porch with teal-blue Mexican cement tiling which acts as dining area. Additionally, the space boasts newly leaded glass windows and plentiful wainscoting. Notable distinctive features consist of a marble vanity in the primary bathroom, a pink and yellow Venetian-glass chandelier in the formal dining room, and a collection of antique taxidermized fish throughout the residence.

In 1891, the historic East Hampton estate was built by acclaimed Grey Gardens architect Joseph Greenleaf Thorpe for the homeowner’s wife, Laura Brevoort Sedgwick. Following a near century and list of elite owners, Calvin Klein purchased the property from the son of Juan Trippe, the founder of Pan American World Airways. The real estate sale took place in 1987 with Klein’s second wife, Kelly Rector, where the formerly married couple spent $3.6 million to acquire the impressive property.

Following the first few years after purchase, the duo executed substantial renovations to the home and eventually had it featured in the 1992 edition of Vogue Decorations. While the celebrity couple officially divorced in 2006 and were reportedly separated for a decade prior, Rector continued to reside within the Hamptons home. Despite her stay nearly fifteen years following their split and her former initials “K. K.” plastered on the front gate, the deed was still in Klein’s name. This past week, the estate was sold in two off-market transactions to undisclosed buyers hidden behind an LLC. The sale consisted of the main property which sold for $75 million as well as the adjacent strip of undeveloped land for an additional $10 million.

The lavish Hamptons estate built in 1891 is situated on 8.4 acres of lush land and features a main mansion as well as a boathouse. Shortly after Klein and Rector purchased the residence over three decades ago, they summoned the help of renowned architect Thierry Despont to modernize the interior space. Spanning over 10,100 square feet, the primary house is a shingle-style mansion including five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. While information in regards to the home’s interior design is limited, Klein and Rector are infamously infatuated with sleek white interiors and perfectly executed construction projects. Some notable renovations to their former Hamptons estate consist of a swimming pool and boathouse on Georgica Pond pictured in the aforementioned 1992 issue of Vogue Decorations.

People are staying here for longer periods of time and they are more looking for the right spot for their family than worried about, the extra half hour, 45-minute commute back to the city."

Seinfeld seems to be referring to the fact that Baldwin, in an era of political correctness, speaks his mind at will, still dresses up for dinner, listens to classical musical, and watches war documentaries on television.

Baldwin, who turns 60 this year, won an Emmy for his portrayal of President Donald Trump in SNL and even counts someone close to the President as a fan, "I've heard Melania loves my Trump impersonation," Baldwin says referring to the First Lady.

The Devonshire House: Alec Baldwin's New York Headquarters

Baldwin loves the Devonshire House apartments in the heart of Greenwich Village.

The Baldwins now own three units in the building that gets its name from the Duke of Devonshire's estate, the Piccadilly mansion in London.

Baldwin purchased the penthouse on the 12th floor for $11.71 million in 2012. Hilaria, Baldwin's wife, then bought an adjacent apartment on the 12th floor for $1.2 million. This acquisition added an additional 840-square feet of living space to the couple's 12th-floor footprint.

Last year, Baldwin purchased yet another 12th-floor unit (12-G) in an off-market deal for $1.31 million.

Walls were knocked down, to combine the alcove-style one-bedroom into the rest of Baldwin's expansive 12th-floor compound.

With kitchens featuring SubZero, Wolf and Bosch appliances, marble counters, meticulous hardwood floors, walk-in closets in the master suite, and elegant layouts compliments of famous New York architect Emery Roth, it's no surprise that a man like Baldwin, who is more comfortable in a Zegna suit and tie than a t-shirt and jeans, was attracted to the prewar, upscale feel of the Devonshire.

Alec Baldwin's Hampton's Escape

When they wants to get away from the prying eyes of Hollywood paparazzi, Baldwin's family seek refuge in an 18th-century farmhouse in East Hampton.

Baldwin bought the house in 1995 and had a complete renovation performed when his wife Hilaria moved in.

The 1753 salt-box shingle home has wood-paneling and winged-backed chairs in the media room. The open kitchen leads to a large dining and living area where the family enjoys many meals together on the wooden dining table from Fishers at Sag Harbor.

While Baldwin has spent more time here in recent years, it is Hilaria who has an office in the house. Her portrait also hangs above the fireplace in the formal living room. The painting was completed by contemporary artist Brendan O'Connell.

The couple's third child, Leonardo, has his own room, which is being renovated to be the same size as his two older siblings'. "We want all of our kids to feel like they're equal," Hilaria explained to Elle Decor.

A light-filled room with lovely french doors located just off the living room has been dubbed "the wine banquet" by  Baldwin and is the perfect place for the Baldwins to entertain family, friends, and famous guests.

With a net worth of over $65 million, Baldwin is enjoying a storied career that includes radio, stage, television, and movie success.

Last year, Baldwin published his memoir "Nevertheless" that tracks his roots from growing up the oldest of four boys in the Nassau Shores neighborhood of nearby Massapequa, New York, to ascending the heights of Hollywood fame and fortune.

There have been many bumps along the way, but there is no denying that Baldwin is a fixture of versatility in a career marked by many iconic characters, including Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, his record-setting 17 host appearances on Saturday Night Live, and tough-talking chief of police, Ellerby, in Martin Scorsese's 2006 crime drama, The Departed.

The show is a natural fit for Jerry Seinfeld, who is a car fanatic. At one time, he was the largest private collector of vintage Porches in the world. His current collection has over 150 cars that he keeps in a custom $1.4 million garage on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

While his 22-car Hamptons garage may not be that full, the kitchen in the main house gets plenty of use. Jessica is the author of a line of successful cookbooks. Although, her culinary skills probably aren't stretched too much making Jerry's favorite dish: egg noodle mac and cheese. And all of that coffee drinking Jerry does on television? It isn't for the show. The Seinfelds have an Elektra espresso machine that gets fired up daily. One of their favorite homebrews is Black Cat espresso by Intelligentsia.

There is a staid simplicity to Jessica's home decor, "Jerry and I are the least formal people," she said in an interview a few years ago about her decorating style. Maybe the mundane is refreshing for Jerry who became the richest comedian in the world by pointing out the observational absurdities of life.

Despite the fact that Jerry once joked, "there is no such thing as fun for the whole family," the Seinfelds like to do just that: eat family meals outside under the pool pavilion or have conversations with their teenage kids indoors. For a man worth over $900 million, there seems to be a part of Jerry that never really left his humble Massapequa roots. You can picture him out on that baseball diamond tossing a ball around with his kids, pretending to be Keith Hernandez when he played for the Mets.

Jerry and Jessica have been together for 19 years and seem to balance each other out. She stays busy with her GOOD+ foundation that works to break the cycle of family poverty, while Jerry decides which rare and amusing classic car to pick up one of his comedian friends in on television. Though he obviously enjoys time alone at home, Jerry seems happiest when he's behind the wheel of a great car. He likes to say, "To live is to keep moving."

Situated on East Hampton's exclusive Further Lane, this 18-acre residence recently purchased by hedge fund manager of Jana Partners Barry Rosenstein for $147 million has officially nabbed title of priciest residential property ever to be sold in the United States.

Nestled next to funnyman Jerry Seinfeld's $32 million manse and art grandee Larry Gagosian's home, the grand estate––which was previously owned by Christopher H. Browne, the managing director of an investment firm, and his boyfriend, architect Andrew Gordon––comes with a beachfront spread, a handful of formal gardens, and a pond.

The nine-figure sale of the home shatters a record set only two weeks ago by the 50-acre Copper Beech Farm in Greenwich, CT, which sold for $120 million.

The Browne-Gordon property was sold by Browne's family after the financier and his beau both passed away, and the family's refusal to use a broker (in order to avoid paying fees and commissions) enraged a slew of top real estate agents. The move also explains the scant number of details about the exchange and photos of the home available.

When Gardiner passed away in 2004, the property was sold to a developer for $8.55 million. Subsequently, extensive renovations were made at the property, including the addition of funky modern art and neon pool lighting, all for a new price of $26.5 million. With expansive grounds, classical hedges and old-growth trees, this property evokes the glamour of another era. The property was originally built by the firm Wyeth and King.
