Upcoming Art & Design Events:

NYC: July 20th – The New Museum will throw its 9th annual Bloc Party, complete with activities and entertainment including workshops for guests of all ages.

Los Angeles: June 22nd through August 3, 2013 - Streetseasky - Edward Cella Art + Architecture presents new work by R. Nelson Parrish. “Rendering a kinetic impression of the Southern Californian landscape, Parrish visually distills the iconic elements of surf, sun, and highway through glass-like resin, wall mounted objects. Ultimately seeking the inter-connectedness of body and landscape, the artist uses the speed and dynamism of athletics to inform his euphoric surges of color and pattern. Suspended beneath multiple layers of cured resin, the works evocatively blur the boundary between sculpture and painting and transcend the stasis of the art object.”

NYC: "Shaping Modernity: Design 1880-1890" Exhibition at MoMA. "The new installation of the Architecture and Design Galleries features a selection of visionary objects, graphics, architectural fragments, and textiles from the Museum’s collection that reveal the attempts of successive generations to shape their experience of living in the modern world." (permanent event)

NYC: "EXPO 1: New York" Exhibition at MoMA PS1 (closes in 45 days) "...an exploration of ecological challenges in the context of the economic and socio-political instability of the early 21st century opens at MoMA PS1, The Museum of Modern Art, and Rockaway Beach. Acting in the guise of a festival-as-institution, EXPO 1: New York imagines a contemporary art museum dedicated to ecological concerns, presenting a simultaneity of modules, interventions, solo projects, and group exhibitions including a school, a colony, a cinema, a geodesic dome, Rain Room, and more."
