Now in its third edition. Design Days Dubai has announced that it will host 34 participating galleries featuring an inspiring mix of emerging and established designers. The fair’s biggest to date, this year’s emphasis will be on collectible contemporary design as well as on a selection of 20th century Modern works.
Some of the world’s most respected names in design are participating at this year’s edition. These include the Carpenters Workshop Gallery from the UK and France; Southern Guild from South Africa; Croft from Korea; Belgium-based Victor Hunt; and Industry Gallery from the USA, among many others.
Galleries from seven countries not previously represented, including China, Pakistan, Portugal, Jordan, Hungary, Austria and Japan, will also be participating. There will also be more than 10 galleries from the Middle East – upholding the fair’s mission to foster contemporary design in this region.
Among the highlights are the participation of renowned Parisian gallery Yves Gastou, which rarely exhibits at art fairs and will be making its first Middle Eastern appearance. This year will also see a strong French presence featuring a collaboration between Design Days Dubai and the Institut Français to bring four emerging galleries from France: Galerie S. Bensimon, NextLevel Galerie, Galerie Gosserez and Ymer&Malta. The galleries will constitute a new section of the fair highlight works from a specific country. The fair will also feature three major installations by international designers as well as rich public program of events, lectures and workshops, presented by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.
Design Days Dubai is sponsored by Van Cleef & Arpels, Emaar and Audi, sponsors that have greatly supported the fair since its first edition. This year’s edition promises to be a step forward in more greatly furthering the dialogue of regional and international design in the UAE.
Design Days Dubai will run from 17-21 March at The Venue on Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. For more information visit www.designdaysdubai.ae
