World renowned luxury furnishing brand Christopher Guy opened its West Hollywood flagship store May 9 with a grand opening celebration sponsored by Architectural Digest and Jaguar complete with a star-studded guest list.

The design house, located at 8900 Beverly Blvd., aims to represent the lavish Los Angeles lifestyle with a state-of-the-art showroom experience.

It's no coincidence that Christopher Guy chose to not only open its new store during Britweek 2012, but the posh furniture brand also announced the winner and runner-up of the second annual Christopher Guy-BritWeek Design Award. The prestigious award went to Karolina Kurek from the Otis Parsons School of Design, and second place was a tie between Rana Desar of UCLA and Patrice Yagen of the Academy of Art.

The competition challenged students to design a furnishing or decorative accent based on the creations of haute couture hat designer Phillip Treacy.
