For nearly 15 years, fresh, timeless designs and meticulous attention to detail have earned Los Angeles-based design firm, FORM Design Studio, a devoted clientele and a portfolio of innovative, commissioned spaces.
FORM Design Studio is helmed by Emmy Award-winner Joshua Rose and Chinese medical practitioner, Rafael Kalichstein. Joshua's years in visual effects and production design for film and television offer a unique perspective in the field of design. Rafael had a nearly 20-year journey in the world of Eastern healing and later became a certified practitioner of Black Hat Feng Shui, a practice he integrates within his design work.
The firm approaches each project as artists, using space as a medium, and operating under two guiding principles. The first, is that spaces speak. For a design to succeed, it is imperative that the designer listen. Second, that "Everything is permissible as long as it is fantastic" (Carlo Mollino).
Since its inception, FORM Design Studio has completed nearly 100 projects across the country, including the US Headquarters for Senator Entertainment; the LA Headquarters for hospitality PR titan, Wagstaff Worldwide; the landmark Sonoma eatery, Catelli's Restaurant; as well as myriad private residences for discerning clientele.
In 2019, FORM Design Studio launched a complete home furnishing collection with industry giant, Global Views, of which products are available for the trade and retail level through Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales. FORM Design Studio designs for Mehraban Rugs, offering fine rugs in wool and silk constructions. Additionally, giclée and hand-embellished reproductions of original artworks by the principal designers are available to the trade through LeftBank Art. The firm collaborates with Dempsey & Carroll to produce luxury stationery with a contemporary and organic bent.
FORM Design Studio recently completed a significant waterfront commissioned residence in Miami Beach. Current projects include an estate in Brentwood, CA, an Aspen, CO contemporary home, a lake house in Michigan, and multi-national offices for a medical research startup.
