Since 2005, Colin Jost, a Harvard alum, has been a writer for NBC's Emmy-winning late-night comedy showcase “Saturday Night Live.” In 2011, the Staten Island native purchased a bachelor pad in West Village, New York City for $1,776,750 which would eventually become his longtime residence. In the years following, the 39-year-old comedic star has become co-anchors on the “Weekend Update” segment with Michael Che. He is set to star in an upcoming wedding comedy, “Worst Man,” alongside fellow “SNL” cast member Pete Davidson. Last year, Jost married “Black Widow” actress Scarlett Johansson after being together since 2017. The celebrity couple recently welcomed a son. Reportedly, “SNL” head writer is ready to unveil a brand-new chapter of his life and bid farewell to his former West Village abode for $2.5 million.

Built in 1929, Jost’s former residence is a 1,400 square foot duplex in a six-unit co-op building dedicated to full time residents. Entering the home through the foyer, the living room highlights exposed brick walls and a wood-burning fireplace. The family room offers French doors leading onto a Juliet balcony overlooking a private patio garden. The charming space showcases vintage-inspired décor, such as a wheeled bar cart and velvet couch. Adjacent to the living and dining area, the windowed kitchen is fully equipped with stainless-steel appliances, yellow painted cabinets, and a tiled backsplash with intricate design.

Upstairs, the master bedroom suite features with an extravagant bathroom with rain shower, a walk-in closet, wall sconce lighting, wood beams, and tile flooring. The secondary bedroom includes a soaking tub opposite the bed, shuttered windows, a walk-in closet, and an enclosed bathroom. Stepping outside, the exterior space offers al fresco entertainment and is perfect for outdoor movie nights with a prewired projector screen. Additionally, the beloved West Village location is captivating and convenient for shopping, dining, and transit options.

Marc Jacobs is one of the fashion industry's most coveted names. The visionary designer is the mastermind behind his very own label, Marc Jacobs, and served as Louis Vuitton's creative director from 1997 until 2014. Recently tying the knot with long-time partner, Charly "Char" Defrancesco, Jacobs is saying goodbye to his jaw-dropping West Village townhouse as the designer and his husband plan to move to their newly purchased Rye, New York home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The West Village home combines classic glamour with a sense of urban tranquility. The four-story home includes 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and 2 partial bathrooms, custom finishes, a secluded garden courtyard, a rooftop terrace and more.

The West Village townhouse formerly belonging to Hilary Swank, was just purchased by Harry A. Lawton III, the president of Macy’s department stores, for $10.5 Million according to the public realty records. The sale of the home is one of the West Village’s biggest hits recently.

The property features three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms over the four floors of the townhouse. The interiors offer a modest yet chic approach to contemporary interior design with soft, neutral tones highlighting clean lines and consistent design throughout the home. The home also features central air, marble floors, an washer and dryer, stat of the art modern appliances in the kitchen, walk in closets, and a library—all fit into just over 3,700 square feet. The space also has a beautiful backyard garden to step out of the concrete jungle of the city and into some serene greenery for a few moments.

Located at 33 Charles Street, the home is in a beautiful neighborhood with the 1 and 2 trains running nearby at the Christopher Street Station. The area is also home to a wide array of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops like Fedora Bar, Café Cluny, and The Elk. The quiet area has become home in recent years to families and new parents looking for a neighborhood that’s quiet for children, but that’s not so far away from either the office or the buzz of city life in Manhattan.

The property, represented on both sides by Corcoran’s Robby Browne, Chris Kann, and Jennifer Ireland Kubis, represented the seller, Clyde and Summer Anderson, the owners of Books-A-Million. Alex Nicholas represented the buyers. Hilary Swank had lived in the home between 2002 and 2006. With all the home has to offer, it’s sale marks one of the West Villages biggest items being taken off the market.

In the West Village, some of the best properties are found not in tall glass towers, but right under our noses tucked behind old, pre-war building facades. One of the best examples of this is a new listing by Brown Harris Stevens at 109 Waverly Place. Just a few short blocks away from the hustle and bustle of NYU co-eds trying to get to class, and some of the best restaurants, bars, and dollar slice pizza joints in the other direction, this townhouse is one of the most beautiful homes in the area, hiding right in plain sight.

The six level, 8300 square foot home features eight bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms with a home stocked full of incredible amenities. Other than the 25 feet in width providing ample space for having the biggest party in town, the home also has a sky lit glass stairwell, private elevator, an elevator, 1500 square feet of outdoor space, and radiant heated floors. Not satisfied? It also has a sky lit lap pool all to yourself.

According to the listing, “Previously multi-unit, the historically significant building was converted to single-family by Wayne Turett of The Turett Collaborative. The firm, known for their deep understanding and expertise in Landmarks, worked closely with preservationists to restore the original façade.”

The home is coming to the market at $28 million dollars and is listed by Rachel Glazer. Most importantly, the home still offers residents something that the new glass tower residences never can, a part of New York history in this historic area where your home still feels like an organic part of the city around you.

It’s not often that a piece of NYC’s rich history gets listed on the market. A new property in the Village has been listed at a hair under $5 million. The building’s legacy dates all the way back to its designer, a founding father of New York, John Jacob Astor IV. The Astor Family is remembered in their namesakes around town, Astor Place, The Waldorf Astoria Hotel, even the neighborhood where the Astors’ originally came to prominence in Queens as fur traders, now known as Astoria. John Jacob is also well known for being the richest man aboard the Titanic, where he perished. To own this property is to own a piece of New York history, and the home certainly represents that prestige.

Apartment 2A is a 2,400-square-foot, three-bedroom home with a grand entertaining space, 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors and brick archways. Robert Dankner, president of Prime Manhattan Residential, has the listing. The property is currently working as a functional two bedroom with a library and office, and easily adapted to anything from the working couple in need of a work environment or the family setting in New York’s scenic West Village. The home also boasts a massive entertaining space, high ceilings, and walk-in closets. The home has been brought into the modern era though, with soaking tub, radiating heated floors, and custom built countertops. As for any classic New York home though, the arched ceilings and exposed brick is the perfect balance of the old vibes of New York back when and the new touches making it the chicest home on the block.

Between the homes traditional vibe, peaceful street, and perfect location between transit and restaurants, it’s the ultimate home for anyone looking to leave the hustle and bustle of the city at the office an come home to a quieter New York like the Astors once did.

American painter Jackson Pollock’s West Village apartment is tidier than expected.

Not that we imagined abstract paint drips and splashes poured all over the walls and floors of 46 Carmine Street, Unit 4 (after all, Pollock reportedly lived here as far back as 1932).

No, this charming one-bedroom, one-bathroom loft—just listed for $1.25 million—offers a more conventional coat of paint, a bright open layout, lots of character, and an eerie history locked within its exposed brick walls.

Douglas Elliman Real Estate agent Luis D. Ortiz (who formerly co-starred in Bravo's reality television series Million Dollar Listing New York) has the listing for the home, which is back on the market for the second time in recent years. It’s ideal for someone with small needs but huge ambition, much like Pollock himself. Among his research on the property, Ortiz learned Pollock’s lucky number was 46—a figure that was used in some of his paintings, and a theme that may relate to the Carmine Street address or psychology.

Built in 1827, the 800-square-foot penthouse apartment between Bedford and Bleecker streets is small on space but big on appeal—with its original wide plank floors, original bricks on inside walls (painted white), exposed beams, 14-foot-tall Tudor-style ceilings, and skylights that cast enough natural sunlight to illuminate the darker side associated with its purported former famous occupants (including Aaron Burr, Thomas Jefferson’s rejected vice president, who mortally wounded U.S. founding father Alexander Hamilton in a duel). According to Ortiz, Burr once owned the townhouse, the land or a prior home here. The quaint building in historic West Village, with its shared garden, basks in the shadow of rare bookstores, record stores, restaurants, and Our Lady of Pompeii Church.

Ironically, the sunny and breezy 46 Carmine Street offers a complicated paradox. For Pollock, who some believe was bipolar, 46 Carmine Street briefly served as his life’s canvas—the exact years the expressionist painter lived here are murky. We do know Pollock’s meteoric success exacerbated his alcoholism which tragically ended his life via an under-the-influence car accident. But while his enamel paints have dried into history, his legacy and influence live on.

“We had an open house of about 50 people and 90% of them asked about Jackson Pollock,” said Ortiz. “We have more than six offers. I don’t know if the Jackson Pollock connection had anything to do with the offers, but it was a bidding frenzy.”

46 Carmine Street, Unit 4 is a character witness to history that’s difficult to unravel in 2014. Speculatively, this is likely where a painter changed our perception of art and where a former VP may have plotted to exorcize his demons. Aside from that, the apartment is a cool loft with a fascinating backstory.

For those bidders looking for a deal, Pollock’s former apartment may be a good investment—considering his paintings (like “No. 5, 1948”) sell for up to $140 million. And who knows what lurks beneath those original floorboards—paintings or ghosts? We may never know.

In any case, if the buyer expects a Pollock painting in the deal, good luck.

Karlie Kloss, one of the most in-demand models currently working in the fashion industry, recently made news in New York's real estate circles with her purchase of a two bedroom, two bath West Village co-op for $1.97 million.

According to the Post, Kloss, 20, just closed on the Charles Street apartment listed by Debra Kameros and Susan Weiner of Douglas Elliman. The co-op spot, which reportedly has a monthly maintenance fee of $1,709, is a newly renovated multi-level townhouse. The apartment boasts 12-foot ceilings, an eat-in kitchen, a private garden and a master bedroom with 20 feet of custom closet space for Kloss' designer wardrobe.

It's sure to be good news for Kloss, who recently told Page Six that she was anxious to find a pied-à-terre in New York; "I can't wait to have a home in the city, and finally feel at home. It's not easy to do. I've been back and forth between St. Louis [her hometown] and New York for the past five years."
