However, with more developments yet to come, how does one stand out from the glass facade crowd? It's simple, add decorative metal paneling. This type of accent is not only pleasing to the eye, but it also adds character to a building. Here are four new developments in the city that have incorporated decorative metal paneling in the best way.

200 Amsterdam

This luxury residential building on the Upper West Side is a striking piece of architecture at the nexus of Lincoln Centre and Central Park. Also known as the tallest building in the neighborhood, 200 Amsterdam sports a mix of glass and masonry, inspired by the ever-popular, Art Deco style. Welcoming residents and guests inside the building is an alluring back-lit deco pattern and an inviting canopy. The incorporation of metal paneling further adds to the art deco style and provides an eye-catching element, that is not only timeless but perfectly composed.

A modernist reinterpretation of the historic Park Slope, Parlour is a twelve-story boutique condominium featuring a handcrafted brick facade and inlaid with arched windows. The standout feature is definitely the arched windows, which also introduces expansive private terraces and balconies that are featured in each residence. To echo the arches above, a decorative metal screen in a chevron pattern carries across the entire base of the building, welcoming residents with a memorable entrance.

In Morningside Heights, New Yorkers are discovering an elevated approach to city living at the newly constructed, Vandewater—a modern homage to old-world elegance. With breathtaking views of the Upper West Side and Hudson River, this unique building adopts a classical neo-gothic architectural style. At the entrance, a double-height metal screen inscribed with the Vandewater mark greets residents at the end of the landscaped, cobblestone motor court.

610 Warren

Another Brooklyn residence, 610 Warren introduces a touch of luxury at the southern edge of Boerum Hill, where Park Slope meets Gowanus. Joining two other luxury condominium developments, 610 Warren features 31- select residence, packaged in a striking Kolumba brick facade building with dramatic windows surrounded by black granite. However, the hero of the building is the delicately cut decorative brass entry panels, which also discreetly disguises the garage entry.

130 William's hand-cast concrete facade is a striking addition to the Manhattan skyline, especially the reinvented arches inspired by classic Lower Manhattan architecture. Aro

Rising over 60 stories above Midtown, Aro is a stunning new residential development from the award-winning architects at CetraRuddy. Apart from the floor-to-ceiling windows and striking white metal grid facade, Aro is home to two pools, one indoor and one outdoors, on the roof. The rooftop pool is perfect for taking in the views and sunbathing. The indoor pool has a custom vitreous glass tile wall mosaic from Artaic-Innovative Mosaic and Quartzite velvet stone as the pool deck floor.

Galerie is a new luxury condominium building in Long Island City and it's inspired by what you would see in a gallery—art.
