Now hitting the market for the first time in more than three decades, Frank Lloyd Wright, Jr.’s Bollman House is now up for grabs for $1.9 million.

Designed in 1922 by the famed architect himself, the two-story, 2,518-square-foot home sits on an 8,102-square-foot lot, and features four bedrooms, two baths, concrete slab floors, and a stone fireplace. In 1983, interior decorator Mimi London revamped the house to adapt it to modern day living, adding a new kitchen, bathrooms, and an expansion of living space into the attached garage.  Most rooms in the home, including the master bath, open out to a private patio and garden filled with tropical plantings.

Anheuser Busch Florida Home Sold

Adolphus Busch III, founder of brewing company Anheuser-Busch, chose Fort Lauderdale—known as the “Boating Capital of the World” and the “Venice of America”—to be the site of his winter vacation home, less than a mile from the town’s Atlantic beaches and the upscale stretch of Las Olas Boulevard.

His Mediterranean-style estate, Manga Reva—which just sold for $12.5 million, $2.5 million less than its original asking—is just off Las Olas, poised on an end lot jutting out into the Intracoastal Waterway. Designed by Addison Mizner protégé Francis Abreu, the 12,533-square-foot abode has six bedrooms, 11 baths, a two-bedroom guesthouse, and a 60-foot lap pool. Sporting 525 feet of shoreline, it also comes with a 130-foot dock.  The home— which had a smallpart in the 1960 film, “Where the Boys Are,” is arguably one of the best waterfront homes currently on the Florida real estate market.

Jane Fonda's Forked Lightning Ranch

Jane Fonda’s beautiful and secluded Forked Lightning Ranch—located 30 minutes outside of Santa Fe—is still on the market for $19.5 million.

Though originally designed by Famed Pueblo Revival architect John Gaw Meem, Fonda made a number of improvements to the ranch compound while maintaining Meem’s distinctive style following her purchase of it in 2000. Robin Williams' Napa Winery

The legendary funnyman's majestic home in the Mayacama Mountains—tucked between the Sonoma and Napa valleys—is nestled within 23 acres and olive groves. Among the incredible property's features are a natural pond, highly polished and maintained grounds, and remarkable views.

Long ago, the first U.S. president's first cousin, Warner Washington, bought a swath of land just north of Berryville, Virginia, just 60 minutes west of modern day D.C. He named the estate "Fairfield," and proceeded to built a lavish mansion on the thousand-acre lot. It touts twelve-and-a-half-foot ceilings, the five-bedroom, five-bath adobe has numerous formal rooms, a library and seven fireplaces. Its stone guest house—nicknamed "Little Clifton Manor"—has three bedrooms and its own library.

Nowadays the colonial estate is known as Clifton Farm, and sits on about 400 acres of the original Fairfield grounds. The Farm's facilities are fully operational for managing both cattle and horses (though interested parties should note that livestock are not included in the sale).

On June 3rd, the Farm's main residential structure, along with its livestock management buildings and guest home, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, who will become the fourth person to ever own the sprawling residence.

Pierre Koenig's Last Home Design

Legendary architect Pierre Koenig designed this oceanfront home for house collector and preservationist, Michael LaFetra. Aptly named the LaFetra House, the impressive residence is poised on Point Lechuza in Malibu Beach. A gated estate boasting its own drawbridge, Koenig declared it "a perfect jewel."

Joe Cocker's Mad Dog Ranch

British-born rocker Joe Cocker bought a 240-acre piece of land in Crawford, CO back in 1992, and proceeded to top it with a 15,873 square-foot English country manor inspired by the ex-patriot's native roots, instead of the typical ranch house.

The "Mad Dog Ranch" estate, named after the musician's "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" 1970s tour, oozes with the appeal of a grand European manor. It includes seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, along with a chef's kitchen, a library, a sun room, a music room, and a large terrace that overlooks Cocker's beloved flower and vegetable gardens (which occupy five acres), and the West Elk Mountains. The grounds also offer multiple water features, a natural wildlife habitat, and a barn accompanied by an outdoor riding arena and corral, making equine, hiking, and fishing activities easily accessible.

Cocker and his wife recently put the English-inspired property on the market for $7 million ($7.85 million with furnishings), after deciding to downsize and build a smaller home on land the couple owns just across the road.

Laguna Beach Rock House

The late Dennis Morin's Laguna luxe beachfront home is ensconced within a mammoth boulder.

The software mogul broke apart a giant stone structure and excavated it to build the unique home, reinforcing the concrete roof and ordering the rock, soil, and greenery put back to cover the residence. Upon its completion in 1996, the innovative structure was surrounded by slabs of looming rock and plants, and had a creek meandering through its 3,000 square-foot interior.

Morin passed away in 2012, and his trust has now put it up for sale for a breezy $15 million.

Bahamas Innocence Island Auction

The largest of the most beautiful, privately-owned isles of the Bahamas Exuma chain, Innocence Island epitomizes a floating paradise.

Sporting lush tropical flora and six private beaches, the 681-acre island has a 2,700 foot-long airstrip that can accommodate small private jets, and may be expanded up to 5,000 feet for larger aircrafts. Naturally, it comes with its own airport code (MYEY).

90 feet above sea level––on the peak of Innocence––is a 5,000 square-foot house with six bedrooms and seven baths, boasting 360 degree ocean views. The lavish home can accommodate up to twelve guests, and has numerous spots for dining indoors and out. Other structures on the isle are a hillside bungalow that houses a gym and meditation deck overlooking the bay; a separate four-bedroom Indonesian mahogany residence nearby; and a two-bedroom caretaker's home on the opposite side of the isle.

The plush island will be auctioned by its current owner, who originally purchased it for $55 million, on May 15th.

Old Florida Miami Beach Mansion

Eddie Murphy Mansion (above)

Murphy met his wife, Nicole, in 1988 and they were married in 1993.  This mansion, now for sale, was their family home until their divorce in 2006.  When it was purchased by the current owner from Nicole in 2007 for $6.1 million, it was the highest price sale in Sacramento.  If it sells for its current asking price, it will still be the largest private real estate sale in the Sacramento area.  Purchased by the owner as an investment, it has not been lived in since the Murphys.  Selling furnished, the decor is that of the Murphys’ including a rare Schimmel Pegasus piano and a “Shrek”-themed bedroom.

Chicago Movie Murder Loft

In the 1993 movie thriller, “The Fugitive,” Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) is a Chicago surgeon whose wife is murdered by a one-armed man. Dr. Kimble was apparently a fan of modern architecture. The movie murder home where Mrs. Kimble met her demise is ultra contemporary with walls-of-windows, tall walls, brilliant lighting, indoor swimming pool, even a glassed floored catwalk.

Built in 1981 in the Old Town section of Lincoln Park, any “fugitive” would be thrilled to hide out in this Chicago home with its cutting-edge airy architecture. The townhouse grew another two floors in a 1990s addition and is filled with light, soaring ceilings and glass walls with views of trees and greenery through every opening.  It’s all drama in wide open spaces with a modernist twist of black metal staircase and the glass catwalk over the great room.  The home is 6,200 square feet with three master suites with fireplaces with a total of five bedrooms and six baths.  It also has a sauna, an elevator and a three-car garage with roof deck.

“The Fugitive” was filmed in this super contemporary Chicago home.  Asking $3.65 million.

Frank Lloyd Wright Beach House

Andrew and Maude Jones started writing to Frank Lloyd Wright in 1951 in the hope he would agree to design their Virginia dream home.  It was a long process with stops and starts and redesigns, but they finally received the completed home plans in 1957.  The couple didn’t start building until 1959, just two weeks before Mr. Wright’s death.  The home was completed in 1960 on Crystal Lake in Virginia Beach.  Wright designed the home to take full-view advantage of the woodland and dunes along the water.

Wright’s Usonian design incorporated his passive solar hemicycle aesthetic of a sweeping half circular design leading the eye to the dunes and lake.  The street side elevation was enclosed to separate the family from prying eyes and street noise.  The drive leading to the house is further sound deadened and made private by stands of loblolly pines and underplantings of large azaleas, camellias, dogwoods, magnolias and cherry trees.  Diverted by the conservative entrance, first-time guests would never expect to walk in and see the lake through the long curve of solid glass.  Mr. Wright liked to create drama.

After twenty-three years in the home and the passing of her husband, in 1983, Maude decided it was time to sell.  Daniel and Jane Duhl were the buyers.  Daniel, a textile engineer and a legend in the textile industry, first gained fame in the 1960s by developing a casement drapery fabric that didn’t droop and went on to develop a non drooping fabric slat for shades.  As an engineer, he had deep appreciation of Wright’s work and he and his wife set about a total restoration of the property, for which an award for preservation from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) of Hampton Roads was bestowed.  During the restoration, the Duhls added air conditioning to preserve the house from humidity, and a 14-foot swim-spa was installed in a stepped-down terrace.  To hide the pool’s mechanical equipment, they built a large underground bunker into a dune which housed the equipment as well as a sauna and gym.  They also added two docks on the lake, one a floating dock for small boats and a large dock that can accommodate two large yachts.  In addition to these amenities, the house also has a double carport and a servant’s suite.  This is the only Wright home with boating access to the Atlantic Ocean.

Abraham Lincoln's Telegrapher

History buffs looking for authenticity in a home with Civil War and presidential connections might want to take a look at the Albert B. Chandler Residence in Vermont.  Albert Chandler, in later years a distinguished philanthropist after pioneering America’s communications industry, was Abe Lincoln’s telegrapher at the young age of 22.  According to the book “The Successful American,” Chandler entered the U. S. military telegraph service in 1863 as cipher operator in the War Department at Washington, D. C.  He was soon promoted to disbursing clerk for General Thomas T. Eckert, superintendent of the Department of the Potomac, in addition to his duties as cipher operator. Here he became personally acquainted with many officers of the Civil War government, and particularly with President Lincoln and Secretary of War Edwin Stanton.  He went on to become a notable architect of the American communications industry.  In later years he was a much beloved resident of Randolph, Vermont and the music hall he donated to the town is considered to be one of the best in New England.

The home that Chandler built in Randolph as his personal residence is now on the market.  Sited on 11.95 acres with a detached carriage house, chapel (former monastery) and large barn, the property has 13,492 square feet of living space with six bedrooms and four baths.  Listed on the National Registry of Historic Homes, the Italianate-style home was built by skilled craftsmen with handmade moldings, doors, mantles and plaster work on the high ceilings. All of the home’s living areas are graced with fireplaces and stained glass windows.  Modern mechanical systems have been installed without affecting the original beauty of the home.  Even with the existing outbuildings, there are still a number of buildable acres.

The Albert B. Chandler Residence in Vermont with ties to Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, now for sale.  Previously listed at $895,000, now priced at $795,000.

Pennsylvania Compound & Retreat

It takes a woman with vision, a lot of persistence and money to take an old Pennsylvania farmstead and turn it into an artistic, magical retreat.  Such was the case with Esther Dormer.  A founder of the venture capital fund, Future Fund, Esther was looking for a place in the country close to Pittsburgh as a getaway spot for herself, her airline-captain husband and their two young children.  It was love at first sight and she bought it on the spot for the full price on her first visit.  Knowing nothing about farming but with 150 acres of tillable land, Dormer realized she could grow nutritious food for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank that would be of higher quality than the usual canned donations.  Dormer jumped right in to the farm work and worked it for seven years.  It gave her children a hands on education about how food is produced, and though there were volunteers to harvest the crops, everyone pitched in.  When the children got older and their interests became more peer-related, Esther decided it was time to do something creative with the property.  The buildings and landscape slowly morphed into works of art and inspiration.  The final result, with crystal chandeliers next to worn barn wood, mossed-mirror frames, to firelight flickering in containers around the property at night, creates a magical atmosphere for living and entertaining.

Now going to absolute auction on May 6th, the highest bidder will win a retreat that has been featured on Bravo’s “Property Envy,” “The New York Times” and numerous design magazines.  Included are 150 rolling acres only 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, with guest house, recreation club, entertainment pavilion, two glass conservatories, seven stocked ponds, waterfall and amphitheater that seats 800 people.  The property comes fully furnished with such artistic treasures as a pool table covered in hammered, studded aluminum.

Celine Dion's Water Park Mansion

Celine Dion and family are spending most of their time these days in Las Vegas. After five  years of sold-out shows at Caesars Palace, Celine restarts her record-setting performances on June 10th. With so much time away for show business and her Las Vegas contract extended to 2019, Celine recently sold her 24,000-square-foot Montreal mansion for almost $30 million, and also has her Florida home up for sale.

When Celine and her manager-husband, René Angélil, built their beachfront home in 2010 on Jupiter Island, Florida, they outdid themselves with water features most have only seen in public water parks. Nestled on 6 private acres on the Atlantic Ocean in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the United States is their Bahamian-style 10,000-square-foot home with eight bedrooms and 415 feet of private beach.  In addition to the main house, there are five pavilions that serve multiple functions including a double four bedroom guest house (eight extra bedrooms), tennis house with simulated golf range, humongous master closet with electric racks and a revolving shoe carousel, pool house with separate kitchen, beach house with second floor sleeping loft and a massage room. Even more, tennis and basketball courts, childrens play house and croquet court, the home is being sold with most of the furniture included.

The Nuns House!

Though built at the height of the Gilded Age in 1887 as a summer home for the family and friends of Lombard, Ayres & Company and undergoing a major restoration in 1919 by its third owner, it finally went to its fifth owner in 1953, the Sisters of the Order of St. Dominic.  Over the next 52 years, the nuns used it as a school, a retirement home for aging nuns and a spiritual center.  Without the funds to keep up the property, it fell into serious disrepair.  Finally, unable to afford the taxes and sustain the property, it was sold to shoe designer Vince Camuto, co-founder of Nine West and his wife.  The Camutos spent the next five years in a massive renovation of the estate, which was orchestrated by Andre Tchelistcheff Architects and Carol Egan Interiors.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos

Kelly and Mark are at the top of the New York City celebrity list, but their SoHo duplex penthouse has not been as fortunate. The 6,792 square foot duplex has been on the market for almost a year and still looking for a buyer. The Arrow Shirt Estate

Frederick Forrest Peabody was a senior executive of Cluett Peabody and Company in Albany, New York that produced the popular early 20th Century Arrow men’s shirts, collars and cuffs.  It was Peabody’s marketing skills that created the famous Arrow Man image, an ad campaign that pushed shirt sales to over four million every week by the 1920s.

Determined to find the best hilltop land for views to build his home, Peabody set about his search on horseback.  He settled on what is known as Eucalyptus Hill with 350-degree views of the Montecito Valley Mountains, Pacific Ocean, Santa Barbara Harbor and south to the Channel Islands.  Though still living in New York, Peabody hired a landscape architect to bring in trees, which included citrus, palms and eucalyptus.  He first built a house on the property for his newly divorced daughter and had a popular local architect, Francis Underhill; draw the plans for his own home. Construction began in 1913 and was completed in 1915.  Designed in classical Mediterranean style, Peabody named the estate Solana, the Spanish word for “sunny place.”  When they were finally able to move into the home in 1917, the family held many galas and fundraisers there and were major contributors to the development of the city.

The Band Leaders' Home

Beverly Hills is filled with star-studded homes, but it is still the early Hollywood era that draws us.  It was a far more glamorous time in 1941 when the Big Band era was in full swing and the Harry James Orchestra (the first band to hire Frank Sinatra) was the most popular band in the country.  This was also the year that a New England-style house was being built in Beverly Hills for actor Bert Lahr, the Cowardly Lion in the “Wizard of Oz,” where James and his movie star wife Betty Grable would eventually live.  Paul McCartney, Beatles star and Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band creator, also lived here in the 1990s.

Less Dough for Pillsbury Estate

C.A. Pillsbury and Company was founded in 1872 by Charles Pillsbury and his uncle, John Pillsbury. John Pillsbury’s son, John S. Pillsbury, built the Southways estate on Brackens Point in Minnetonka, Minnesota in 1918 with his wife Eleanor as a summer retreat. It wasn’t until 1991 when Eleanor died at age 104 that the estate was sold for the first time.  For years after it was built, it was used as a summer house as were many of Lake Minnetonka’s large estates.  However, in 1930, it became a permanent residence for the Pillsburys. The 13-acre estate includes seven structures including the main house, a caretaker’s cottage-greenhouse, garage, pool complex, smoke room and tea house. The 32,461 square foot main house has nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, formal rooms, hearth room, sunroom, library, family room, conservatory, game/billiard room, gym, playroom and large wine cellar.

Historic Georgia Estate

In the afternoon of July 8th, 1864, Major General Jacob Cox’s Division of the 23rd Army Corp of the Ohio, crossed the Chattahoochee River to begin the Battle of Atlanta, a preview skirmish on General William Sherman’s March to the Sea.   Years later in 1929, Atlanta native Dr. Daniel H. Griffin began construction of a stone house on 170 acres on a ridge above this historical Civil War river crossing.  Griffin went on to open the first pharmacy, the first post office and the first medical clinic in the north Atlanta area.  When Griffin’s wife died in 1973, the neglected home was purchased by Mr. Bob Shipman.  He did much to save the house for the current owners by rewiring and replumbing the home and building the guest house.  The Jean-Paul Richard family purchased the home from Shipman and have spent seven years restoring and expanding the home and turning the gardens into a work of art.

Historic Harder Hall Hotel

The Harder Hall Hotel is someone’s opportunity to bring back to life a beautiful and classic Old Florida hotel. Construction on the hotel began in 1925 during the Florida land boom on 14 acres at the edge of Little Lake Jackson in Sebring, Florida and completed in 1927. It was designed by the same architects, Schultze and Weaver, who did the famous Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida.

Reese Witherspoon’s Libbey Ranch was originally built in 1923 for Edward Libbey of Toledo glassware fame as a horse stable. In following years the ranch evolved with other illustrious owners such as Harold Ramis and Kathryn Ireland. Taking into account that it was designed by Wallace Neff with later additions designed by Austen Pierpont, its history alone is intriguing.  In 1937, Frank Capra used it as the setting for Shangri-La in his film, “Lost Horizon.”  Though Kathy Ireland filled the home with her colorful textiles, Reese came in with her own decorator, Kristen Buckingham, who gave it a neutral palette of earthy textures that accentuated the true architectural beauty of the home and blended it into its natural surroundings.  The heavy use of stone in the large fireplaces, huge exposed beams, Spanish tiles and century-old hardware that was forged on site gives the home an elegant rusticity.

The Sharper Image House

Richard Thalheimer, Yale graduate, attorney and iconic entrepreneur is nothing less than awe inspiring to any budding entrepreneur.  While still a student he opened his first business in 1972 - an office supply store named The Sharper Image named to promote the store’s quality printing products. Herbert C. Wise, the architect who designed these twin cottages at the edge of Long Island Sound, was a multi-talented individual. A valuable part of history, Cross Manor was originally a King’s Land Grant of 2,000 acres granted to Thomas Cornwallis in 1639.  The land grant was bestowed upon Cornwallis by King Charles I as a reward for bringing the first two ships of Catholics to the New World.  As with almost all of the original land grants, the land was divided and sold over the years.  Cross Manor now rests on 110 acres along the shore of Saint Inigoes Creek.  Many say the Cross Manor main house may be the oldest in Maryland.  Current owner Ted Koppel writes about Cross Manor in his book “Off Camera” and says the main house “dates back to at least 1765, but believes the original building “was pillaged and set on fire by a pirate named Ingles.”  At one time a Civil War military facility stood on the property as well as commercial wharfs along the waterfront.

New Orleans Ballet/Church Conversion

According to the owner, some people remember it as a church, Westminster Presbyterian, built in the1920s as a house of worship for a historic congregation started in the 1830s. The house is filled with plaques commemorating the contributions of their followers.  The church sold it to the Ballet Hysell in the 1980s, which was led by the legendary Maestro Harvey Hysell.  He lived in two apartments and left the main place of worship as a dance studio.  The large dance studio was visited by ballet notables like Mikhail Baryshnikov from the Russian Ballet on their first American tour.  The first floor was dedicated to practice rooms, costumes and set designs.  On Halloween, he would host a Masquerade Ball and at Christmas would present “The Nutcracker.”  In 1999, the current owners purchased the building and began a major renovation to turn it into a home, including all new electrical, heating/cooling and plumbing systems.  They added new structures, relocated the elevator shaft, closed in the front yard and added a living green roof garden - currently New Orleans largest.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Millard House

Wright’s 1923 Millard House was his first Usonian residence, which design was intended to be simple enough so owners could build their own.   But even after years of concept refinement, the style never was perfected to the point where the average middle class homeowner could construct one alone.  This house, referred to as La Miniatura by the Millard family who commissioned the home, with its massive poured concrete and block walls could never have been managed by the average homeowner.   Wright’s vision for this home, as with his others, was to have it focus on the land formation of its building site.  Usually, he laid his homes horizontally, but with La Miniatura, he designed vertically to take full advantage of the low ravine views that led down to a seasonal creek. Frank’s son, Lloyd Wright, also took a big part in the home by creating the landscape design for the entire property and later designing the guesthouse.

Virginia's Historic Three Hills Estate

Three Hills Estate is comprised of the manor house, a multi-function activity/conference center and four cottages. The total combined properties consist of 80 rooms with 22 bedrooms, 22 bathrooms, eight kitchens, and nine fireplaces totaling over 20,000 square feet of space on 27.24 acres.  The manor house, designed in Italianate style, is adorned with dentil molding, crown molding, crystal chandeliers, transom windows and ornate fireplace surrounds.  Located in the Allegheny Highlands, views overlook the town of Warm Springs and distant valleys.  One of the gardens is an intricate boxwood maze ending with a central fountain.  Only four miles away is the internationally-known Homestead Resort with its plethora of year round amenities.

Early 1900's Montana Lodge Auction

Bernie and Billi Marcus built their Atlanta mansion in 1987 in the elite gated Sandy Springs estate neighborhood, Wildercliff.  The 10,314 square foot contemporary home also has a two-story attached apartment with kitchen, two bedrooms, bath and living room.   The house is comprised of five bedrooms and eight bathrooms,  the main level has a two-story living room, indoor pool, gym, large master with his-and-hers dressing rooms, two offices, cooks kitchen with commercial appliances and an indoor grill in the breakfast room.  On the terrace level are the media room, wine cellar, playroom and half bath and a large unfinished storage area.  Finishes include stone, tile, marble and large expanses of windows.  There are two fireplaces and light southwestern touches can be found throughout the home. 

Hamptons $8 Million Windmill House

In the 1950s, Faberge cosmetics founder Samuel Rubin bought the windmill and converted it into a home.  At that time he had tennis courts and used the property to entertain friends.  Many celebrities visited, played or rented there such as Alec Baldwin, Ralph Lauren, Marilyn Monroe, Arthur Miller and Kurt Vonnegut. Frank Lloyd’s Pottery House

The Pottery House in Santa Fe, a spheroid design, was the only adobe house Frank Lloyd Wright ever designed.   He started the design for El Paso newspaperman Lloyd Burlingham in 1942, but was not able to finish the project before he died in 1959.  Developer Charles Klotsche saw the unfinished plans at Wright’s Taliesin Architects and had them update the design and increased the original 2,400 square foot plan to 4,900 square feet.

The interior has five bedrooms, four baths, hardwood ceilings and barrel-shaped fireplaces, as well as a large great room, a sitting room and kitchen. A strong organic feeling pervades the property, emphasizing man’s connection with nature as was frequently evident in Wright’s designs.

Tennessee Castle & Racetrack

Tennessee’s Crantzdorf Castle, a replica of Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander, Spain, and built by imported European craftsmen, is more than just another man cave for good old boys. It also sports a one-sixteenth scale version of the nearby Bristol Motor Speedway, making the property a study in contrasts.  The castle was built by auto dealership owner, Steve Grindstaff, over a ten-year period, who apparently was torn between aspirations of grandeur and his deep seated affection for the backwoods bootlegging background of NASCAR - each 180 degrees opposite of the other.  Another point of contrasting interest is its location in Johnson City where the 2010 Census listed the median income at $37,047 and median house value at $37,047.

Kansas Jayhawks Mansion Auction

The grounds contain a greenhouse imported from England, equestrian facilities, riding trails and a hay field with a stocked fishing pond.  When not playing or watching hoops, basketball fans and non-fans can enjoy the home’s billiards room, wet bar, fitness center and infinity-edged pool. The home and court were featured in an ESPN documentary, There’s No Place Like Home.

Included in the 10,000 square foot Kansas mansion are the 16th-century furnishings and a replica  Jayhawks basketball court.  Was listed at $5 million.  Bids start $500,000.

Kentucky Bourbon House

For sale for the first time since it was built,The Avish, the original Brown family manor, is named after the family’s ancestral home in Ireland and was built in 1925 for the grandfather, Owsley Brown.  It sits on 24 acres and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  After twentieth-century additions, the mansion now measures more than 17,695 square feet with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The estate also contains a barn, garden house, greenhouses, and a two bedroom guest house. The Avish is surrounded by several other estates owned by Brown family members.

The estate that Bourbon built is now offered for the first time at $5.5 million.

They Call It the "The World's Finest Penthouse!"

The mansions contain 79 luxury condos furnished from the top of its 47 stories to its toes by Fendi Casa.  As of the beginning of September 2013, the building is 80% sold.  The pièce de résistance, however, is the Palazzo d'Oro penthouse.  At a total living area of 11,069 square feet including terraces, the two-story “Gold Palace” has a grand salon, family room, five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, dining room, cantilevered glass-walled swimming pool overlooking the Atlantic, spa, eat-in kitchen, summer kitchen, utility room and pantry-storage room.  It also has a large see-through glass wine room, a theater, private elevator, round glass elevator between floors, billiard room,  an indoor pool, a “sky garden” with 30-foot ceilings, a 25-foot waterfall, and a live green wall.

Zane Grey's Catalina Island Home

Zane Grey fell in love with the island and built a Hopi-style pueblo home on a half-acre hilltop of the island in 1926.  This location and home combined his favorite things: the pueblo-styled house paid homage to his love of the Pioneer West and the Pacific waters below allowed for his favorite sport of fishing.  Zane was quite a ladies man with many mistresses and often used this home as a love nest while his wife and children stayed in California.

The current owners have operated the home as a sixteen-room bed and breakfast under the name of the Zane Grey Pueblo Hotel for more than fifty years, though Zane used the entire building as his home until he died in 1939.  The added three bedroom, two bath penthouse has served as the owners’ residence and has panoramic views of the harbor from its terrace.  The additional house, now used as the caretaker’s cottage, was the vacation house Grey built for his brother.  Originally listed at $16.95 million, after being reduced over $10 million, the current list price is $6.5 million.

Mary Kay’s Dallas Mansion

Now for sale, Mary Kay’s iconic signature pink Texas mansion, her opulent showplace to highlight her success and to entertain in grand style.  Fortunately for most potential buyers, the current owners neutralized the pink into sophisticated beige shades. The 12,115 square foot mansion consists of six bedrooms and seven baths on 1.05 acres in the coveted Old Preston Hollow neighborhood.  Special features include several large marble staircases, paneled den, large kitchen and wine cellar.  All rooms are large-scaled and many have 40’ ceilings.  The floor-to-ceiling arched windows have beveled glass panes and fill the home with natural light.  Outside is a Romanesque pool with columns and statues said to have been inspired by the pool at Hearst’s San Simeon Castle.  Landscaped grounds contain trees, pools, fountains and a koi pond.  Mary Kay’s former house was originally priced at $5.7 million, now asking $2.8 million. It is one of the prettiest mansions in Dallas.

Wisconsin’s Ellison Bay Manor

Containing 35,000 square feet of living space, included in the sale are the furnishings, a beach house, three bedroom guest-staff house and 80 additional acres.  The mansion has four bedrooms, including the 5,000 square foot master suite, ten bathrooms and a two-story paneled library with a large fireplace said to be a replica from the Vanderbilt Mansion in North Carolina.  There is a movie theater with ticket booth and concession stand, multiple sitting rooms, two-story grand parlor, and an attached flower arranging-potting room that also acts as a greenhouse.  The indoor pool and spa were built with quarry stone from Jerusalem.  The home’s wallpaper and carpet were imported from England.

Gone With The Wind Auction

2011 Esquire Bachelor Pad Still Available

The building was erected in 1914 as a 12-story industrial building on Brooklyn’s waterfront in the neighborhood of what is now called DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). Suzanne Somers' Le Baux de Palm Springs!

The Roses built the A. James Speyer-designed house in 1953.  Speyer was a well-known architect, professor at Illinois Institute of Technology and was Curator of Twentieth Century Paintings and Sculpture at The Art Institute of Chicago. The combination of talents between the Roses and James Speyer created what might be considered by some to be the epitome of a sophisticated adult treehouse designed for endless creative inspiration.

At 4,300 square feet, the home consists of four bedrooms and four baths and is situated on one acre of wooded land.  In 1958, the house was one of twelve homes in the nation featured in a Bethlehem Steel publication promoting the use of steel framing for residential design.

Beckhams Buying Versace!

With the Versace Mansion bankruptcy auction only a short time away, Beck and Posh don’t have much time to ponder, but their interest seems to indicate that a decision on team location isn’t very far away.

In a new little twist that has come to light, as the house has lounged on the market, talk of negligence recently came up when it was discovered that current owner, Peter Loftin, was carrying only $6 million of insurance on the property. Though he has controlling interest in the mansion, interestingly Jordache Jeans owner, the Nakash family, holds the note and apparently were not happy campers over the lack of coverage. So as auction time approaches, the mansion is now the owner of a new $40 million insurance policy - $32.3 million on the structure and $7.7 million on personal property. With Loftin’s financial woes, the mansion has gone from being originally listed for $125 million, then down to $75 million with no takers, and is now going to bankruptcy auction on September 17th with a starting bid of $25 million.

The 500-acre ranch lies at the foot of the Pioneer Mountains with the East Fork of the Big Wood River running the length of the property.
