The sleeves serve a dual purpose; they also provide reading material about the famous chain's coffee beans. Customers can exchange the book at the counter and keep the book's sleeve as a memento.

On Nendo's website, the design team explained; "The 'library' invites visitors to choose an espresso drink as they would a book, and verse themselves in espresso drinks as though quietly entering into a fictional world. Books and coffee are both important parts of everyday life, so we created a link between favorite books and favorite coffees."

 The pop-up shop was installed in the Omotesando neighborhood of Tokyo for the month of September.
