With the FIFA World Cup games officially underway, more than 250 of Miami’s power brokers faced off in support of the Special Olympics as PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter played host to a World Cup kick off bash on Wednesday, June 13.

Event-goers enjoyed cocktails and canapés from around the world, each representing a different participating country in the games. From Moscow Mules to Peruvian ceviche, Spanish croquettes and French macaroons, guests were transported around the globe while vying for their chance to score a winning goal. Dozens of brokers faced off against the pro goalie and players on-hand as they took their shot at kicking a goal into the net as PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter offered to make a donation to the Special Olympics for each winning goal.

As Miami’s only condominium with its own soccer field, PARAMOUNT is kicking up the amenity stakes and counts at least six professional soccer players who have already purchased residences in the tower. The three known soccer pros play for the Turkish, Colombian, and Cameroon national teams.

“As Miami is home to so many soccer stars and fans, we’re excited to kick off the World Cup action at PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter,” said developer Dan Kodsi. “With Major League Soccer coming soon to Miami and now in the running to host the games in 2026, the city’s interest in soccer is at an all-time high.”

“We have buyers from each of the countries participating in the World Cup and we’re thrilled to celebrate the start of the games,” added Peggy Fucci, CEO of OneWorld Properties, the exclusive sales brokerage for the project.

Continuing the World Cup festivities, PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter will welcome guests throughout the games for watch parties to view the matches on the sales gallery’s oversized 760-square-foot digital screen.

PARAMOUNT – located inside the massive Miami Worldcenter project in the heart of downtown Miami – is more than 70 percent sold with $400 million in sales of their 500+ city- and bay-view residences. Units in the 60-story tower range in size from 1,180 to 2,350 square feet, with prices starting at $750,000. It has more than 50 nationalities represented among its buyer pool.

Construction crews from general contractor of record, CoastalTishman, have already reached the 52nd floor of vertical construction and PARAMOUNT is on course for building completion in spring 2019.

The only residential tower currently for sale within the massive 27-acre mixed-use Miami Worldcenter site, PARAMOUNT has made international headlines with its Upper Deck, which will debut as the largest amenity deck in the U.S., spanning 90 feet above downtown Miami featuring an extraordinary array of action-packed amenities that includes the country’s first outdoor soccer field to be featured in a high-rise residential development; two tennis courts; multiple resort-style pools; lush parks and spa baths among others.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are two of the greatest soccer players to ever play the game. Because of their status on top of the world's sporting stage, Messi and Ronaldo can't avoid constant comparison.

While the gliding Messi holds the edge in deft passing and lifetime assists, Ronaldo has the recent champions league wins to give him a slight edge. The two players share so many records in numbers of titles and awards that, on paper, it is difficult to tell them apart.

At the start of this year's world cup in Russia, it appears Ronaldo's hot streak has continued while Messi struggled to place scoring shots. However, never count the resilient Messi and his Argentina national team, the Albicelestes, out of a close match.

While these men compete on the field, the styles of their amazingly nuevo and luxurious homes seem to be in a tight match as well.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Modern Madrid Mansion

Ronaldo is a stylish guy, so his home design reflects that. Located on the prestigious La Finca Residential Estates in Madrid, Ronaldo's house is hard to miss. His oversized front door features his initials engraved in 8-inch letters on the metal facing.

The living space is 8,600 square feet and worth £4.8million. In addition to the seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, there's a trophy room where Ronaldo keeps his four golden boots and his three UEFA Best Player in Europe trophies among many, many others.

The polished marble hallway's main centerpiece is a floor-to-ceiling black and white photograph of Ronaldo and his son, Cristiano Jr. Another part of the house contains a painting of his late father, José Dinis Aveiro. The effect places Cristiano as a centered guy for whom family is important. He knows where he came from–and where he is going.

A wood-paneled home gym has all of the equipment Ronaldo needs to stay fit off the pitch. His boys like to watch him work out. They probably imagine the day they'll be able to leg press over 1,000 pounds like their dad.

A balcony gives a view of the large pool surrounded by wood plank decking. There are plenty of places to lounge inside and out. Wicker daybeds provide comfort around the house and pool. They are large enough for the whole family–his girlfriend Georgina and their four children– to snuggle up together.

When traveling stateside, Cristiano Ronaldo can stay at his $7.2-million penthouse in New York. During training with his national team, he'll camp at his $2-million apartment in the center of Lisbon, Portugal.

Lionel Messi's Barcelona Base

Messi has lived in Barcelona most of his life. Contrary to an internet rumor, the famous footballer's house does not resemble a giant soccer ball. Instead, Messi owns a multi-level white contemporary mansion overlooking the Catalan hills, near the Mediterranean.

He bought the house for $1.8 million but has put an additional $6 million in renovations into it since 2009.

White walls and light wood floors complete the Mediterranean feel inside. Beiges and browns have been added as furniture accents. Panoramic windows and wrap around open terraces invite the dweller to take in peaceful views of the sea.

Messi built a playground next to his garden for his two toddlers, Mateo and Thiago, to enjoy. He also has two brown Mastiff dogs who like to lounge with him on the outdoor patio furniture.

In addition to the home gym, Messi also has an indoor soccer pitch at home for getting in some additional practice whenever he wants.

Messi is not only a Captain on the field–he's a boss homeowner as well. When his next-door neighbors were being too loud for his liking, Messi bought them out and now enjoys more of a buffer to his property.

Barcelona El Prat–the 7th busiest airport in Europe–is also 10 minutes from the home. According to reports, the airport has been wanting to expand and build a runway closer to Messi's neighborhood, but the plans have not been approved because fly-overs are not allowed on Messi's property.

These instances might paint a picture of Messi as a person who always gets what he wants. However, those who know him best affirm he is at heart a humble guy who loves his family and tries to help out others in need.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi Find Balance

It takes enormous talent and constant determination for Messi and Ronaldo to remain on top of the world's top footballer's rankings. As a glimpse into their home lives will show, these professionals have managed to find time to nurture relationships and grow healthy families as well.

With the start of the Russia 2018 World Cup, everyone is boning up on their soccer knowledge. Some of you may even be taking to the pitch to see if you can smash a penalty kick as well as you did in grade school. Or maybe you are trying to pass your soccer skills off to your children, given that soccer is the second most popular youth sport in the U.S. Either way, developers are honing in on this, giving residents of every age the opportunity to perfect their game without leaving the comfort of their home. Here are some of the hottest luxury developments for the soccer star in all of us.

Waterline Square

If you want to field a full team, look no further than Waterline Square. The three-tower development along the Hudson River boasts a large indoor soccer field. After you kick the ball around you can cool off in Waterline’s 25-meter, 3-lane lap pool or relax in the hot tub. Strain a muscle while playing? Arrange to have a masseuse take care of it in one of Waterline’s massage rooms, or work it out yourself in the sauna or steam room. If you’re not up for soccer, Waterline also offers tennis, basketball, and squash courts, a rock climbing wall, golf simulator, skate park and yoga studio; enough to accommodate the most active of lifestyles.

180 East 88th Street

This Upper East Side condominium by DDG offers residents of its 48 units the opportunity to practice their skills year round with a partial indoor basketball court and adjacent soccer pitch. The facility features soaring double-height ceilings and an abundance of natural light. Other amenities include a wine room, children’s playroom, game room, residents’ lounge and a fitness studio. 180 East 88th Street is slated for completion later this year.

Madison Square Park Tower

Want the thrill of playing soccer without all that running? The 65-story Madison Square Park Tower has a ‘Simulator Room’ featuring an HD screen that spans an entire wall. Residents can virtually play any sport they wish, including the European version of football. The tower is located at 45 East 22nd Street, with units ranging in price from $2.5 million for a one-bedroom to $48 million for a penthouse.

Paramount Miami Worldcenter

Heading south to Miami, you’ll find this indoor regulation-size soccer field atop the four-acre outdoor deck of Paramount Miami Worldcenter – the signature residential tower of Miami Worldcenter, a massive $2-billion dollar project being developed by Dan Kodsi, Art Falcone and Nitin Motwani. Of course, a soccer field is only one of the endless number of amenities at Paramount, which promises to create a “city within a city” upon its completion. The Miami Worldcenter development will feature a retail component, office tower and convention center and two residential towers with relaxation, entertainment and fitness centers, food markets, skydeck access and a whole lot more.

The next best thing to living at a place with a soccer field? How about sharing an address with a professional soccer star. Future residents of Missoni Baia in Miami’s rapidly growing Edgewater neighborhood can make that claim. Miguel Borja, the 2016 South America “Footballer of the Year,” scored a condominium in the under construction tower earlier this year. Missoni Baia features valet parking, a hair and nail salon, game room, fitness center, spa and a sun deck with an Olympic-size pool, among other perks. You can watch Borja this summer as he tries to help the Colombian national team win the World Cup.
