For many years it was a hospital. And although the bones and structure of the complex will essentially be the same, upon completion few who experience it will have any inkling of its former identity. The transformation is truly mind-boggling. The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Sunny Isles Beach features designs by Arquitectonica with interiors by Florentine architect Michele Bönan. Constructed with families in mind, spacious floor plans in the 212-unit building will have Atlantic Ocean, city and intracoastal waterway views.  Ceiling heights will be 10 feet in the homes and 13 feet in the penthouses, while oversized terraces with private pools will be offered in select residences. Italian-design kitchens will be filled with Caesarstone quartz countertops and Gaggenau appliances. Some features of each residence are walk-in closets, laundry rooms with full-size washers and dryers, smart home technology and pre-wiring for high-speed internet access and Wi-Fi. The Penthouses include garden terraces spanning 2,000 sq. ft. – 4,000 sq. ft., private pools, outdoor kitchens, custom-designed Italian cabinetry and master suites with separate service quarters.

The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota underwent a revamp to bring it up to date, and the hotel’s formal dining room and wood-paneled bar went from classic to modern, rethinking its design approach. The Ritz incorporated seafood restaurant Jack Dusty, a longe and marketplace with an updated color palette, and a sense of the local Sarasota experience.

President of Ritz-Carlton Herve Humler tells The New York Times, “We want our hotels to reflect a more local experience of the place. Our customers want a more authentic experience. At our hotel in Morocco, for example, we are using mosaic floors and local carved-wood artwork.”

This new endeavor also reaches to the Ritz’s Indonesian hotel, Shanghai hotel, and more in an effort to more closely represent the location and culture of each. We think this effort provides a local luxury feel that won’t soon be forgotten.

The Ritz property just listed was open space when Marks purchased it back in 2007. He paid $18.9 million for the space then, and over the last several years it has been finished into turn-key condition. The condo features parquet style floors of silver over wood.

Architectural Digest showcased the property in its March 2011 issue.

Marks made New York real estate news back in May when he purchased a Park Ave. duplex for $52.5 million. The price was a record setter for a New York co-op.

“It was an extravagant indulgence on my part, but it is so wonderful," 70-year old Wynn said.

Wynn was married last year, and the couple hopes to move into the home by Thanksgiving.
