Taylor Swift is not only an 11-time Grammy winning singer-songwriter and iconic popstar but also a surprising real estate investor. The acclaimed American artist has spent $50 million on a single cobblestoned street in the Tribeca neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, New York. Beside her $18 million townhome at 153 Franklin St., she also owns three units at 155 Franklin St. totaling near $30 million. In 2014, Swift purchased an $19.95 million penthouse duplex at 155 Franklin St. from “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson. Later on, she purchased another $9.75 million unit in the same building.

Other notable residents of the charming brick building include Orlando Bloom, comedian Aziz Ansari, former New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh, and Steven Soderbergh. Now another unit, on the fourth floor of 155 Franklin, has sold for $9.99 million. While the space was intended to serve as a rental, the buyer reportedly fell in love with the unit and purchased it on the spot crowning them the title of Taylor’s swift’s new neighbor.

The classic 19th-century building formerly served as the Sugarloaf Warehouse before its conversion into a 6.5 story residential space. Spanning 3,532 square feet, the newly purchased Tribeca unit features four bedrooms and three baths. The marvelous great room highlights corner exposure, a woodburning fireplace, and oversized windows for plentiful natural lighting. The open chef’s kitchen is equipped with a quaint breakfast bar. The luxurious primary bathroom encapsulates a spa like atmosphere and offers a dressing room and private seating area. Decorative elements of the home consists of classic loft features such as cast-iron columns, exposed brick, and wood-beamed ceilings.

Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, are no strangers to the real estate business as they are frequently involved in purchasing, renovating, and selling homes. Since 2003, the talk show host has reportedly owned 20 properties. DeGeneres and de Rossi currently appear to be gravitating towards the Montecito beach town as they have bid farewell to their Beverly Hills mansion for $45 million, their last remaining property in Los Angeles. Within the past year, the celebrity duo purchased two separate properties in Santa Barbara. The newest addition to their real estate catalog is a petite bungalow style residence purchased at a price of $2.9 million. The nearby community is also home to other renowned names such as Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Ariana Grande, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Oprah Winfrey and Rob Lowe.

A short distance from Butterfly Beach, DeGeneres and de Rossi’s newfound residence spans 1,691 square feet and less than an acre of land. The single-story, midcentury modern style home includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The humble abode highlights a seamless indoor-outdoor flow with glass doors and walls fitting for California. The sleek minimalist kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, cherry wood cabinetry, and stone center island. The cooking area leads to a sun-drenched living room with fireplace. Down the hall, the primary suite is privately tucked away and offers a walk-in closet, Bali-esque bathroom with freestanding tub, and sliding glass doors leading to a spacious patio. The couple originally bought their new home last fall after their engagement but have spent the past few months moving into the new address. The six-bedroom, 12-bathroom estate spans 7,167 square feet and sits on 9 acres of land and spans four parcels. Santa Barbara architects, Edwards and Plunkett, designed and built the home in 1934. It was then later renovated by Lutah Maria Riggs, the first woman to be named a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.

Although Perry and Bloom have added a few renovations to the estate, most of its original aesthetic still remains. The Mediterranean-style home stands three stories tall, featuring a grand rotunda entryway. The main level including a living room, formal dining room, open kitchen and breakfast room, as well as an outdoor dining space.

Upstairs holds the main suite, which occupies more than half of the upper level. Some of the amenities included are the wood-burning fireplace, two bathrooms, a large custom-fitted dressing room, a separate walk-in closet, and a private patio which overlooks the rest of the property and the Pacific Ocean. The private office and conference room are located on the lower level.

The home also holds a guesthouse, a detached four-car garage, a pool house with two additional bedrooms, and a full-size tennis court.
