Ian Slater and Eduardo Martinez of Compass present a noteworthy property in NYC. This quad-plex penthouse, complete with a 24hr doorman, has officially hit the market for $6.9995M. The captivating 3,785 sq ft. property has a unique and fascinating history. Most notably, Britney Spears lived in the penthouse for four years during her "Toxic" era in the early 2000s. In the 80s, renowned singer/actress Cher also owned the home before selling it to record executive Russel Simmons in 1990. Located within the Silk Building, the home caters to just about every need and desire. The building, built-in 1908, holds 55 residences and was home to the original Tower Records store in the ’80s and ’90s.

While providing desired privacy in a townhouse-like structure, the home can be entered on any of the four levels, each unveiling a new surprise. The main level of the home, where the living/dining room and the chef’s kitchen can be found, features Sub Zero and Viking appliances. For optimum convenience, the main floor, with 12-foot high ceilings, also accommodates a powder room and a full-sized laundry room.

One of the highlights of this space is the outdoor terrace, which can be found on the top level along with the den. Out on the terraced roof, you’ll find stunning sunset views with the Empire State Building in sight. Even while on the unit’s other levels, you’ll be flooded with natural light and pleasant views from the large windows.

Located in the NoHo area of Manhattan, there is no shortage of entertainment and dining fit for any taste. Some common points of interest include Zero Bond, a members-only clubhouse, and a Miami-based restaurant, Kyu, which serves Asian barbeque.

The luxurious Manhattan abode was once home to John Stewart, comedian and former “Daily Show” host who sold the property in 2014 for $17.5 million to financier Parag Pande and filmmaker Ritu Singh Pande. Seven years later, Shawn Levy and his wife, Serena, purchased the home on April 1 for a price of $13 million via a trust. However, in the short two months following, Levy “has recently committed to filming on the West Coast and Europe for the foreseeable future—and the family will not be able to spend time in New York City after all,” according to the listing team led by Danny Davis at The Corcoran Group. This has led the Levy’s to list their former Manhattan abode on the market for $15 million.

As the largest and last penthouse to sell at 40 Bleecker in New York City’s NoHo neighborhood, this condominium is the highest priced property in the newly constructed building. The penthouse consists of the top two floors of the 1900s commercial building, which was converted into loft-style condominiums in 2004. The ultramodern interiors were designed by Ryan Korban although the Levy’s did undergo some minor renovations during their short stay such as painting over some wallpapers. The lavish space spans 6,280 square feet with five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. The home includes two living rooms, a large family room, multiple entertaining areas, office, and two outdoor terraces. According to the listing, “the apartment feels like a house in a doorman condo.”

Some of New York’s best kept secrets remain hidden in plain sight. Whether that’s the city’s best burger, hidden speakeasy with the best cocktails, or bookshops that seem almost purposefully hidden, sometimes keeping something away from the public to gawk at makes it that much cooler. 22 Bond Street may as well be the real estate equivalent of those points. Hidden behind a giant steel façade, looked to be weathered through time of New York history, this luxury tower is everything but rust-colored.

Behind its large privacy wall, 22 Bond offers a unique blend between art and high-end design. The building’s penthouse offers 22-foot high ceilings, private elevators, three bedrooms, 3.1 bathrooms, a custom kitchen decked out with Smallbone of Devizes, and Gaggenau appliances, all over 3,828 square feet. The property is newly listed on the market from Douglas Elliman’s Darren Sukenik for just under $15 million.

If this penthouse feels more like an art gallery than a home—good. The building’s original intent was to have this be a resident’s private gallery, and its continued to be treated as such, being given the utmost care and attention to detail while filing the space in the building with installations by Federico Uribe and Roy Nachum in the lobby.

While the building and penthouse feel as though one would never want to leave, 22 Bond Street is also a neighborhood like no other in the city. Strattling NoHo, Greenwich Village, SoHo, and NoLita, 22 Bond has everything from great restaurants like ATLA or Mile End, fitness studios like SoulCycle, buzzy bars from the NYU crowd to finer watering holes like ACME, and transit areas at Broadway/Lafayette and Astor Place. For all the ability and range this building has to offer, its no wonder they wanted to keep this space hidden behind steel walls.

She’s baaack—and not a moment too soon.

Paris Hilton has dwelled from penthouse to jailhouse to outhouse and, most recently, to the doghouse. After a hiatus from the spotlight (compared to the Kardashians), the native New Yorker snagged a $4.9 million Greenwich Village penthouse pad at 738 Broadway for herself and her oft mentioned roommates—seven dogs, including a $13,000 Pomeranian pooch, amazingly named “Prince Hilton the Pom” (self-awareness is apparently very important for a famous dog’s self-esteem).

The 33-year-old’s centrally-located Noho penthouse loft (Unit PH at 738 Broadway near Astor Place) occupies the top floors of the Broadway McKenna building, a former cast-iron warehouse built in 1867, which was converted and reimagined by architect Karl Fisher and interior designer Andres Escobar into full-floor contemporary apartments earlier this year. The building is home to just four residences, which offer mixed layouts: two 2,400-square-foot two-bedroom condos, a 3,200-square-foot three-bedroom duplex, and Hilton's two-bedroom penthouse with private rooftop terrace.

Her two-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex penthouse boasts 2,400-square feet of living space (the rooftop terrace is 905-square feet), direct elevator access, and a 38-foot by 22-foot “great room” with wide-plank oak floors, nearly 12-foot ceilings, two skylights, and a luxurious automatic floor-to-ceiling gas fireplace of white Calcutta marble--embellished with custom LED cove lighting. The apartment offers ample light and impressive views via oversized west-facing windows.

The apartment also showcases a state-of-the-art Crestron system for controlling surround sound audio, electronic shades and the gas fireplace, and a laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer. The 738 Broadway apartment originally hit the market for $7.5 million, but recently listed for $5.25 million—approximately $350,000 less than Hilton reportedly paid.

Granted, Hilton is an heir to the Hilton Hotels & Resorts fortune (she's the granddaughter of founder Conrad Hilton), so she technically could have a place to crash anywhere in the world in perpetuity--whether she snatched up homes on both U.S. coasts or not. She could also stand idly by, collecting a hefty inheritance check. Sure, she took full advantage of high society life. She tried it all. But eventually, the glamorous life got the best of Paris Hilton.

The dog lover, who gave Kim Kardashian the blueprint for capitalizing on fame as a “celebutante,” has barely blipped the radar in recent years. A catalyst was likely her 2007 incarceration (45 days) for driving infractions and failure to enroll in a court-ordered alcohol education program, which violated her prior parole. Following these highly-publicized legal issues and an excruciatingly painful interview with Late Show host David Letterman who only asked her about going to jail, Hilton has kept a lower profile—as much as any famous paparazzi-seeking club goer could.

Hilton’s greatest talent may be her heredity, but she’s successfully mastered marketing herself. She’s an experimental DJ; an occasional club-hopper; a part-time actress, singer and voiceover artist; and a full-time pitch woman (her 17 perfumes have reportedly surpassed more than $2 billion in sales!). Perhaps she has graduated from celebutante to a truly mature socialite? If so, the few residents of 738 Broadway will have a classier neighbor—with seven barking dogs, one of which is a prince. Let’s hope the walls are soundproof and the dog walkers are plentiful in Greenwich Village's NoHo neighborhood.
