Famed interior designer Nate Berkus recently sold his own home, a dream for many potential homebuyers looking for a pad with excellent flair. The buyer, Alexander Gilkes (founder of Paddle8), paid $4.9M (earning Berkus a $1.6M profit).

You can't ignore the fact that it takes lots of hard work to be successful in this business. Long hours but, more importantly, a total dedication to my clients and their needs. They rely on my experience, expertise, negotiating skills and the ability to think outside the box to guide them through the process of buying or selling what is usually their largest financial asset. It is also an emotional asset – their home! That demands a high level of trust and confidence to make them feel at ease. I have a passion for the business. I could not do if I did not. I value my clients and their loyalty. A majority of my business is based on referrals.

What has been the most lucrative market out of your 5 different markets in our HLRN?

That is tough to answer as I represent clients in all of Marin County. My influence in my five market areas has led to referrals and success throughout the county and into the wine country.

What is your favorite part about summer in your area?

The glorious weather, but we have that most of the year. During the summer, however, more people are out walking, riding bikes, hiking, picnicking and taking advantage of Marin County's abundant open space and parkland. There is a festive vacation energy in the air.

Dwayne Johnson Sells $3M California Mansion with Fountains

Fast and the Furious star ‘The Rock’ (otherwise known as Dwayne Johnson) sold his Miami-area mansion for $3M, a total steal. The home featured 13,353 sq. ft., six bedrooms, six baths, media room, marble floors, fountains, gorgeous landscape and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The Rock only purchased the property last year from Vernon Carey of the Miami Dolphins.

Outside, the property features a resort-style pool, a garden, built-in grill and a massive garage with space for six luxury vehicles. The actor recently sold his Beverly Hills property for $4.9M.

What's your favorite thing to do in Palm Beach over the summer?

Summer is ocean and beach time here in Palm Beach County, Florida. The water is extremely warm and calm this time of year with constant soft breezes that offer the feeling of a perpetual vacation, even though within minutes you can return to the heart of the city.

Juno Beach is a world-famous destination for sea turtle nesting, and the summer season is the perfect time to catch a glimpse of this natural phenomenon by either viewing large sea turtles pull themselves up on shore to lay their eggs or seeing the process months later as hatchlings scurry past birds and other prey from the nest to their new ocean life. These animals can swim to Africa and back in their lifetime, but somehow know to return to our area beaches, within just miles of their birth, to nest themselves and continue the circle of life. I’ve lived here almost 30 years, and I will never cease to be amazed by that fact.

Trips to the Bahamas are a breeze from our area, too. On a calm day, we can get from the Palm Beach Inlet to Old Bahama Bay, Grand Bahama Island in less than two hours by boat. Once there, you are not only in a different country, but you feel like you are in another world, surrounded by crystal clear, blue water and some of the most unique marine life in the world.

Golf, tennis, fine dining and every other imaginable amenity is wonderful in the summer months because you have the luxury of only half the people here in the “off season” to make waiting for anything a total non-issue. What to go to your favorite restaurant? No problem, just walk-in, no reservations needed. Want to play golf without a tee time? Same thing…depending on where you play, you can probably get on the course with a moment’s notice.

If you could own a house anywhere in Palm Beach, what street would it be on?

If I won the Lottery tomorrow, I would buy a place on Beach Road, Jupiter Island, Hobe Sound Florida with the Atlantic Ocean as my front yard and the Intracoastal Waterway with boat dockage as my backyard. Many of the home sites here, more than an acre in size, have high elevations that offer constant ocean breezes and amazing water views of paradise.

Catch the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean as you savor coffee in your private beach house or end a perfect day by taking in the burnt orange sky of sunsets over the Intracoastal and your private yacht while sipping cocktails by the pool on your back lawn and patio area. It’s sounds like a dream, but here on Beach Road in Jupiter Island, it’s a reality for a select few. No wonder celebrities like Celine Dion, Tiger Woods, and Greg Norman have already chosen this signature location for their personal address.

David Duchovny Reduces Price on $9.2M Triplex

“X-Files” and “Californication” star David Duchovny is eager to sell the home he shared with ex-wife Tea Leoni. While their divorce was finalized in 2011, the house has been on the market since then and has recently been reduced in price.

The triplex is composed of three separate artist’s studios and boasts features like a 13 ft. ceiling, wood burning fireplaces, a garden, a separate office and a doorman.

The couple purchased the apartment for $6.25M in 2008, and it is now on the market for $8.5M with Stribling & Associates.
