In 2016, Anthony Bourdain first rented the luxe Manhattan apartment for $13,000 per month. The space became home to the travel documentarian for two years until his unfortunate passing in June of 2018. A mere two months later, the celebrity chef’s former residence was placed on the market at a price of $14,200 per month. The space was rented out only a month after its listing. However, three years after Bourdain’s passing, the residence is once more being listed on the rental market. This time the home is being offered at a reduced price of $12,000 per month. Bourdain also owned an Upper East Side apartment with his then wife Ottavia Busia that sold for $3.3 million about a year after his passing. A documentary film revolving around his life titled "Roadrunner" is set to be released on July 16.

Milan-born developer and CMC Group founder Ugo Colombo recently completed the installation of a multi-million art collection at his newly opened Brickell Flatiron tower in Downtown Miami. The privately commissioned permanent collection features a series of exclusively produced large-scale paintings and sculptures by New York artist Julian Schnabel, as well as signature pieces by Italian artist Carlos Battaglia and Italian photographer Marco Glaviano, which are displayed throughout the 64-story building’s grand lobby and public amenity spaces. Works by Battaglia and Glaviano add to Brickell Flatiron’s Italian sophistication and are complemented by the building’s sleek interiors and custom-designed furnishings created by Italian design architect Massimo Iosa Ghini.

 Highlights from the collection include two dynamic pieces by Italian painter Carlo Battaglia: Visionario, 1968 and Visionario 7, 1969. A standout among Julian Schnabel’s custom prints and pastel-colored paintings at the tower is the iconic Sawtooth Lamps sculpture from his 2014 collection, fashioned from cast and plate bronze. The American painter and filmmaker’s large-scale pieces are materially and thematically monumental, drawing on a wealth of influences from Cubism to the practice of Cy Twombly and themes such as sexuality, obsession, suffering, redemption, death, and belief. Crowded with paint drips, dynamic brushstrokes, and found materials including broken plates, textiles, tarpaulins, and velvet, many of Schnabel’s works combine painting and collage techniques.

Italian photographer Marco Glaviano also exhibits two framed prints at the luxury condominium, including Dizzy Gillespie in the 27th st. studio in New York, 1992 and Sonny Rollins at Umbria Jazz in Perugia,1998. The Sicily-born photographer and architect pioneered digital photography as the first to publish a digital picture in American Vogue in 1982. He’s worked for leading fashion magazines and brands on both sides of the Atlantic and has photographed some of the world’s best-known models, including Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Paulina Porizkova and Stephanie Seymour.

Brickell Flatiron’s architectural design is the brainchild of architect Luis Revuelta, who is behind many of Miami’s iconic high-rises including CMC Group’s Bristol Tower, Santa Maria and EPIC Residences & Hotel. On the inside, master Italian design architect Massimo Iosa Ghini uses inspiration from Revuelta’s curved façade to outline the tower’s sleek interiors and public amenity spaces, creating a seamless transition from exterior to interior.

Massimo Iosa Ghini uses light as a key element throughout the project with contrasting soft and bright lighting used to distinguish the indoor and outdoor spaces and create a comfortable yet refined atmosphere. Unique vignettes with curved interior lighting mimic Brickell Flatiron’s shape while various Italian marbles line the floors and walls, creating a beautiful sense of movement. Each space, object and fixture is designed with careful attention to detail and the highest quality materials, as the combination of raw elements such as onyx, ivory and stone with warm metals like brass, bronze and copper convey a minimalistic and pristine ambiance. The amenity spaces also feature select custom-designed furnishings created by Iosa Ghini himself, as well as imported pieces that were hand selected for their bespoke nature and superior craftsmanship.

The Miami version of New York City's Flatiron Building is complete. Residents have taken over their units, designing them and preparing to move in.

The restaurants, hotels and shopping centers of Brickell Financial District in Downtown Miami have a new focal in Brickell Flatiron, the 64-story luxury condominium constructed by CMC Group.

Milan-born developer Ugo Colombo partnered with master Italian design architect Massimo Iosa Ghini to make the residential gem. The flatiron shape of the tower is paired with flowing, curvilinear forms.

Iosa Ghini uses inspiration from Brickell Flatiron’s curved façade, (designed by acclaimed Miami architect Luis Revuelta) to outline the building’s sleek amenity spaces, creating a seamless transition from exterior to interior.

The amenities at the highest level of Brickell Flatiron include a Sky Spa, Sky Pool and Sky Gym, with a 360-degree panoramic view of Biscayne Bay and Miami.

The Belnord

The Belnord is an iconic Upper West Side landmark that occupies an entire city block bounded by West 86^th and 87^th Streets, Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway. Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the world-renowned architecture firm is overseeing the restoration of the original architecture and re-imagining the interiors for the residences. The Belnord is one of the greatest turn-of-the-century residential buildings, originally constructed in 1908 and designed by famed architecture firm Hiss & Weekes. The property's new design will feature 95 residences, ranging from two- to five-bedrooms, situated across 14 floors. In addition, 9,000 square feet of state-of-the-art amenities will be incorporated into the building, and many of The Belnord's hallmarks — including the courtyard and the exterior architecture are being restored to their original grandeur and updated.

The building which was built-in 1928, was formerly known as the Dorothy Gray Building and was once the headquarters of fashion house Gucci. The first three floors are currently occupied by a brand new flagship Coach retail store. Since the acquisition of the building, SHVO has also engaged international luxury hotel brand, Mandarin Oriental, to manage and service the residences. At Wynwood 25, an apartment complex in Miami, Mershberg Group uses porcelain tile for the accent walls in the lobby space, which creates a durable concrete large format look. This replacement of natural materials like concrete and Italian marble could be the future of interior architecture—at least for this year.

The idea of seamless is desired by anyone who wants the appeal of the smooth and uninterrupted design. A trend we're noticing is the three-quarter inch countertops, which creates a different and unique way to approach a kitchen staple. At about half the thickness of traditional countertops, this movement is something we love. At the Grand McCarren, a luxury Greenpoint development designed by Meshberg Group, thin countertops can be found in several kitchen spaces throughout.
