Outside her bedroom, Wang has, indeed, basked in success. Initially training to be an Olympian skater and failing to make the team, Wang entered the fashion world. Wang was hired to be an editor at Vogue immediately upon graduation from college, making her the youngest editor at that magazine. She worked at Vogue for seventeen years, leaving in 1987 to join Ralph Lauren, for whom she worked for two years.
