The latest prize was the spectacular oceanfront estate where Oscar-winners Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson matched wits and love in Columbia Picture’s film, “Something’s Gotta Give.” The prize winner was hotel mogul Jimmy Tisch, CEO of Loews Corporation, who snagged the mansion for a cool $41 million. For that staggering price perhaps a more apropos title would have been “Someone’s Gotta Give.”

Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson, who starred together in the 1981 film 'Reds' displayed impressive chemistry on film. Keaton won a Golden Globe for her performance as a playwright who owned the Southampton home.

Tisch obviously fell in love with the estate at 576 Meadow Lane quicker because he scooped up the home in an off-market deal from Mediabistro CEO Alan Meckler. Good connections and a good broker are a terrible thing to waste. Beate Moore of Sotheby’s International Realty represented Tisch, while broker Tim Davis of the Corcoran Group represented Meckler. Meckler, who according to the New York Daily News bought the land in 1999 for only $5.5 million before constructing the 8,000-square-foot mansion on two acres, presumably made a killer profit on the deal, which officially closed on October 22.

The Hamptons beach played a therapeutic role for the unlikely couple and Nicholson's character "Harry" in 'Something's Gotta Give.'

The beachfront estate at 576 Meadow Lane was famously showcased in Nancy Meyer’s 2003 romantic comedy as the location where Keaton’s and Nicholson’s characters (Erica, a successful playwright, and Harry, a playboy music mogul) unlikely and awkwardly fell in love in the twilight of their lives (despite Harry dating Erica's daughter earlier in the film). Frequent exterior shots featured the estate's façade, however interiors were shot on a soundstage. The real mansion boasts eight bedrooms and 11.5 bathrooms, a pool, large porch, and easy beach access, according to published reports.

The sale of 576 Meadow Lane was among a late fall rush of uber-luxury properties that sold for more than $30 million (one 18-acre property sold for a whopping $147 million).

The mansion on Southampton's "Billionaire Lane" is approximately 8,000-square-feet over two acres of land.

Jimmy Tisch's new neighbors will include fashion designer Calvin Klein and hotelier Ian Schrager, among others.

Meadow Lane, appropriately known as “Billionaire Lane" (especially on the East End where the median home price exceeds $18 million and access to a helipad whisks its famous residents off to Manhattan),” Tisch’s new neighbors include a Who’s Who of successful business barons and Wall Street elites like Daniel Och (Och-Zipp Capital), William Salomon (Salomon Brothers), Leon Black (Apollo Global Management), fashion mogul Calvin Klein, real estate tycoon Aby Rosen, half of the Koch brother dynasty, David Koch, and fellow hotelier Ian Schrager.

On Billionaire Lane, one magnate's exit is another mogul's entrance. The EZ Pass toll for this super exclusive lane costs tens of millions of dollars—but at least it grants convenient access to gorgeous beaches.
