In the early 2000s, before Jay-Z and Beyoncé became one of Hollywood's most iconic and impactful couples, the rapper purchased a $6.86 million penthouse on the 7th floor of 195 Hudson Street. After getting married, the couple sold Jay-Z's Tribeca penthouse and relocate to the Magic City with a jaw-dropping oceanfront property on Miami's Isle of Billionaires -- an exclusive island in Miami's Biscayne Bay. The couple lived here for two years before parting ways and selling the home in 2010 for $9.3 million.

Returning to the south and tying into Beyoncé's southern roots, the couple purchased a historic church in the Garden District of New Orleans. The property was purchased by the couple for $2.6 million in 2015.

McClean has come a long way from his Dublin, Ireland home as a boy where he used to draw houses and ask his parents, "what type of person does that?" Fortunately, for luxury home buyers, his parents steered him toward architecture.

As a student, he came to appreciate the modern home designs of L.A. "Growing up in Ireland, I was so intrigued by a home that you could open up to the elements and make the walls go away," he told The Real Deal last year.

His big break came in 2014 when a stunning home he had designed years earlier was purchased by the late Swedish DJ Avicii. From then on, McClean became the in-demand nest designer for the celebrities and financiers who fly high above Hollywood on the Bird Streets.

With a client list boasting Beyonce and Jay-z, Calvin Klein, and the Winklevoss twins–McClean took his star-architect status to a whole new level when he teamed up with spec-home developer Nile Niami.

Among the pair's giga-mansion collaborations, is "Opus" a 100-million, 20,000 square foot compound comprised of 12-foot ceilings, Roberto Cavalli floors, disappearing glass walls, a Cristal Champagne room, infinity edge pool, and a sky bridge.

Opus may be the only mansion on the market that includes original Damien Hirst artworks as some of the more "affordable" things in the room.

What makes McClean a great architect is that at the heart of all of his home's opulence and grander there is still a welcoming place inside for people to enjoy life.

Paul McClean characterizes his creations with smooth staircases, towering wine cellars, glass walls, and waterways that build emotions as owners walk past them. "Our houses are all about light. Light and water,” McClean told the Orange County Register in 2017.

Beyonce and Jay-Z's 120-million Bel Air Paradise built into the hillside with wrap-around floor-to-ceiling bulletproof glass walls and pools on every level. It's a white maze of angles that can be seen from space.

While those living in the Hamptons have always felt like royalty, the actual Queen has arrived. Beyonce and Jay Z have bought a new house in East Hampton, and Hamptonites are all the better for it.

The Carters have previously summered in the Hamptons, through rentals, but this will be their first permanent residence in the area. The Pond House as the estate was dubbed, sits on two acres of land, measuring the home at 12,000 square feet. The residence features seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The space also sits directly on the Georgica Pond, and beside a 17-acremeadow preserve.

The home had previously stalled on the market about 8 years before being swept up by the Carters for $26 million.

For all the Hamptonites out there, make your reservations at Pierre’s now, just in case the table next to you winds up being the Queen Bey.

The Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles has a couple of new, pretty well-known residents: the Carters.

At $150,000 per month, JAY Z and Beyoncé will reportedly be renting a 20,000-square-foot, $45 million home in the Los Angeles area for the next year.

Formerly owned by Frank McCourt, the owner of the L.A. Dodgers, the new Carter residence features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, an Olympic-sized indoor pool, an outdoor pool with a waterfall, a steam and massage room, a library and screening room, and a dance studio.

The couple, who have lived on the west coast since earlier this year shouldn't have any trouble finding entertainment in their new neighborhood. Hugh Hefner and his famed Playboy Mansion are said to be just down the block from their new abode.

The power couple has been spotted touring Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, Ricky Martin’s mansion in Miami, and—most recently—Cher’s 13,126-square-foot Italian Renaissance-style mansion in Malibu, California. Asking price? A bargain-worthy $41 million, considering that the house was formerly on the market for $45 million in 2008. Despite rumors of the sale, the property remains on the market.

Despite the lingering listing, Cher has decided to shake up her real estate portfolio—just as any self-proclaimed [celebrity] real estate professional would do. It has been reported that the songstress recently “downgraded” and closed on a far less extravagant home in Beverly Hills. The four bedroom, three bath estate boasts a somewhat bizarre rock garden but pales in comparison Cher’s former homes in the Los Angeles area, which include a $5.5 million duplex at the celebrity-popular Sierra Towers complex.

Don’t add the house to celebrity star maps just yet, as it has been speculated that the house is intended for her son Elijah Blue Allman, whose Venice Beach home was sold earlier this year. Whether or not the world famous singer moves in, the $2.15 million pad will still have some celebrity appeal as it was formerly owned by Ed O’Neil—the actor made famous by his role as the cash-strapped, self-pitying shoe salesman, Al Bundy of Married…with Children.

The couple has paid $400,000 to rent the property, which is actually a discount compared to what direct marketing ace Cheryl Mercuris paid to stay at the property. Her two week stay at the property had a half million dollar price tag.

The three year-old home features a 60-foot heated pool with a stereo to pump the works of the music power couple and a basement complete with a skating rink, basketball court, spa and two bedroom apartment. Outside the 31,000 square foot home (on 11 acres) find a tennis court.

The estate also features an eight car garage.
