Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollywood Concrete Home

Now hitting the market for the first time in more than three decades, Frank Lloyd Wright, Jr.’s Bollman House is now up for grabs for $1.9 million.

Designed in 1922 by the famed architect himself, the two-story, 2,518-square-foot home sits on an 8,102-square-foot lot, and features four bedrooms, two baths, concrete slab floors, and a stone fireplace. In 1983, interior decorator Mimi London revamped the house to adapt it to modern day living, adding a new kitchen, bathrooms, and an expansion of living space into the attached garage.  Most rooms in the home, including the master bath, open out to a private patio and garden filled with tropical plantings.

Anheuser Busch Florida Home Sold

Adolphus Busch III, founder of brewing company Anheuser-Busch, chose Fort Lauderdale—known as the “Boating Capital of the World” and the “Venice of America”—to be the site of his winter vacation home, less than a mile from the town’s Atlantic beaches and the upscale stretch of Las Olas Boulevard.

His Mediterranean-style estate, Manga Reva—which just sold for $12.5 million, $2.5 million less than its original asking—is just off Las Olas, poised on an end lot jutting out into the Intracoastal Waterway. Designed by Addison Mizner protégé Francis Abreu, the 12,533-square-foot abode has six bedrooms, 11 baths, a two-bedroom guesthouse, and a 60-foot lap pool. Sporting 525 feet of shoreline, it also comes with a 130-foot dock.  The home— which had a smallpart in the 1960 film, “Where the Boys Are,” is arguably one of the best waterfront homes currently on the Florida real estate market.

Jane Fonda's Forked Lightning Ranch

Jane Fonda’s beautiful and secluded Forked Lightning Ranch—located 30 minutes outside of Santa Fe—is still on the market for $19.5 million.

Though originally designed by Famed Pueblo Revival architect John Gaw Meem, Fonda made a number of improvements to the ranch compound while maintaining Meem’s distinctive style following her purchase of it in 2000. The property—originally built by rodeo entrepreneur Tex Austin—still features the original hacienda, which functions as a guesthouse and barn—albeit with subtle renovations, such as an office and gym.

As the Pecos River snakes through its front yard, the sound of water splashing against stones and boulders gives the Spanish colonial-style, 9,600 square foot home a very tranquil vibe. With six bedrooms, four baths, high-beamed ceilings, swimming pool and bell tower, this home has it all. The entire compound rests on 2,300 acres bordered by the Santa Fe National Forest to the east and the Pecos National Park to the North. Fonda’s personal literary collection, art, antiques, Navajo rug collection displayed throughout the house, furniture, ranch equipment and machinery are also up for sale through separate negotiation.

Soon after purchasing it in 2000, the actress took two years to painstakingly transform it into an eco-friendly environment through responsible land stewardship, and the tedious restoration of the property's private 3.5-mile stretch of the Pecos River.

The fantastic estate comes with a "Hacienda" (a three-bedroom, 2,125-square-foot guest home complete with a 250-square-foot patio that overlooks Rowe Mesa); a log house (a 3,409-square-foot structure); a 12-stall equestrian facility; a gorgeous pool; an organic herb garden; as well as a state-of-the-art gym.

"Forked Lightning Ranch has been a sanctuary and a place of great joy and recreation for me and my family,” says Fonda. “Many changes have occurred in my Iife since 2000, and I am no longer able to spend as much time on the Ranch as I once was. I feel the time has come to pass the Ranch onto a new custodian.”

The property—also known as the River House—was commissioned by acclaimed architect John Gaw Meem back in 1925 by by John "Tex" Austin, better known as the "King of the Rodeo." After Austin lost the property to the bank, it was bought and expanded by E.E. "Buddy" Fogelson, who wed Oscar winner Greerg Garson in 1949.
