Nora Lum, commonly known as her stage name Awkwafina, has purchased a four-bedroom mansion in Bel Air for $3.5 million. Awkwafina is a rapper, comedian, and actor, best known for her role in Crazy Rich Asians.

The Bel Air mansion has a modern, boxy architecture that appears simple yet stands out immediately. Located in a gated residence, the mansion sits privately in a secluded drive at the end of a cul-de-sac. Built in 1991 and designed by architect Richard Dodson, the 3,500 square foot space was inspired by Streamline Moderne décor.

The two-story property has an open-concept layout with numerous windows scattered throughout. The spacious living room has built-in floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a fireplace. Other living space amenities include a dining area and a chef’s kitchen equipped with Viking appliances.

The upstairs level holds an office or creative studio as well as the master suite. The master suite features dual closets, a fireplace, and a spa-inspired bathroom with an oval soaking tub and separate shower. It also features a private deck with a grassy seating area.

Other home amenities include a 2,500 bottle wine cellar, soundproof recording studio, and a gym. Outside has a putting area, heated pool and spa, and grassy lawn spaces perfect for relaxing. The property also has rooftop solar panels and a two-car garage.

DJ and producer, Diplo, has sold his Hollywood Hills villa for $2.8 million after five years in the residence.

Located in Los Angeles’s Beachwood Canyon under the Hollywood sign, the Contemporary-style home was built in 1926 with 2,524 square feet of space. The multi-level property holds four bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms, which occupy their own floor. The penthouse suite takes up the entire top floor including a lofty office, a lounge space, and a massive bedroom with a spa-like bathroom and a private terrace that overlooks the city.

The lower levels of the home feature a living room with double-height ceilings and a black marble fireplace; a dining area that opens directly onto another covered terrace in the home; a kitchen with dark wood cabinetry and modern gray-and-white tiling. Also included in the property is an in-home recording studio with soundproofed walls and a listening lounge, a yoga retreat, and an outdoor meditation space.

Outside, there is a large entertaining space, providing tons of room for a dining table and a separate sitting area. The entertaining space is lit by string lights that run along the side of the home.

The residence was purchased by Diplo in 2016 for $2.425 million and was sold less than a month after the listing went up. The future buyer also had the option to purchase the interior’s displayed furnishings, which were staged by the design and development firm, ASH NYC.

Diplo has upgraded to a Malibu home, previously owned by Kid Rock, that is more than triple the size of his old one.
