After designing her own homes for years, Blake is now getting interior design requests from friends. She loves home decor so much that she doesn't even charge for her services–yet.

Blake used to publish a blog called Preserve that focused on helping people discover the work of local artisans. The blog is no more, but Blake is still spreading the word about the makers she admires, like Dimitriy & Co furniture.

Lauren Conrad left life as an American television personality to become a purveyor of all things lovely and chic.

Her blog and VIP newsletter offers everything from hairstyle trends to drink recipes, but she has also launched a successful home decor line for Kohl's and performed room makeovers on behalf of Pottery Barn.

Lauren has been called "the Martha Stewart for millennials" and it all starts with her own personally-styled home in Pacific Palisades, California.

After retiring as one of the world's most recognizable supermodels, Cindy Crawford got into furniture design in 2005. She has evolved that interest over the years into a philosophy on how to design a home the right way. "I don’t like it when people buy a midcentury house and then try to change it, or buy a Tudor and try to make it modern,” she said in an interview with Elle Decor last year.

In addition to making things look chic, Cindy offers tips on decorating for all the senses by imagining how someone might experience a home's smells or the feel of certain fabrics.

A mother herself, she learned to use outdoor fabrics whenever possible to ward off messes left by little ones or pets.

Proving that good design is also practical, Cindy suggests designing kitchens that not only look amazing but are also easy to clean.

She tries not to get so caught up in aesthetics that lifestyle doesn't get considered. Having a comfortable place to read or watch a favorite program is an important part of designing a home that's comfortable to live in.

Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton used to own a Frank Lloyd Wright home in L.A. In 2011, she launched a table-top line for Bed Bath and Beyond. Her love of design has culminated in the publishing of three home design coffee table books.

Her latest, The House That Pinterest Built, is described as "a style guide, an inspirational tome, and a how-to volume on creating one’s home."

Diane started publishing design books because she wanted to celebrate the inspiration people get from seeing the design eye of others, "billions of people discover, seize and enlarge their reference pool with the variety of beauty allocated from others," she says in the book's introduction.

Hip-Hop music mogul and native New Yorker P. Diddy (née Sean Combs) recently expanded his bicoastal empire with the purchase of a brand new $40 million mansion in the exclusive Los Angeles enclave of Holmby Hills.

Get ready, Hollywood. The multi-platinum and multi-monikered rapper-producer who once employed an umbrella assistant to shield him from the rain, now owns a 17,000-square-foot West Coast estate to guard him from the California sun. And odds are, the well-connected music magnate (famous for hosting “The Real White Party,” the summer fundraiser where A-list stars and guests don bleach-white duds) will give the neighboring Playboy Mansion competition on the social circuit.

Built about six months ago on more than an acre of land, Combs’ two-story, European-style Holmby Hills villa spares no expense with eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 35-seat theater, gym, wine cellar, and the pièce de résistance—a lagoon pool with an underwater tunnel leading to a cozy grotto (let's call it Capri Jr.), according to the The Los Angeles Times. The estate also boasts a 3,000-square-foot guest house as well as a spa house with steam room, massage room, and a private beauty salon. After all, what’s Hip-Hop without vanity?

Combs reportedly snatched up his Holmby Hills home in an off-market deal. The newly-constructed estate was developed and sold on spec by mega-mansion titan Nile Niami (known for extravagant properties including another 85,000-square-foot Bel Air home with five pools that, when completed, will become the largest home in Los Angeles County). Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland/Christie’s International Real Estate represented the seller and Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency served as Comb’s agent, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Combs (as his Hip-Hop alter ego P. Diddy) usually “drops” new records, spirits, clothing lines or artists to the world. His overwhelming success now allows him to drop tens of millions on luxury estates. The 44-year-old also owns homes in New York, Miami, East Hampton, and likely wherever else he pleases. Three months prior to Combs' L.A. spending spree, fellow Hip-Hop producer Dr. Dre (of Beats headphones fame) also dished out $40 million for a Brentwood home purchased from NFL quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

Combs, the prolific Grammy Award-winning record producer—who introduced J. Lo (Jennifer Lopez), Mary J. Blige, Usher and The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace) to the music game—has transformed his own notorious reputation by diversifying his entrepreneurial empire (which includes Bad Boy Records, Sean John apparel, a deal with Diageo’s Ciroc vodka and Revolt TV media with Comcast). He is even gaining some respectable reviews for his producing and acting in film, television and on stage—even if characters he portrays typically mirror himself. Combs is considered Hip-Hop’s highest earning entertainer (and likely its future first billionaire) with an estimated net worth of $700 million, according to Forbes.

Combs ultimately was found not guilty of all charges. Following these prior indiscretions, Combs ditched his "notorious" reputation in favor of the B.I.G.—as in B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S. and M.A.N.S.I.O.N.S.

The self-proclaimed (in song) “bad boy for life” is giving “good” a shot. But come rain or shine, Combs’ Holmby Hills mansion still can’t completely shield him from the greatest threat to rain over all celebrities—the paparazzi. But the tunnel-grotto just might be the best celebrity escape yet.

The Legendary Beverly House is sited on approximately 3.7 flat acres atop a private knoll 3 blocks from Sunset Boulevard. With original landscaping by Paul Thiene, entrance gates adjacent a two-story gate house open to a long private driveway ascending one of the city’s longest private drives to a courtyard fountain. Architect Gordon Kaufmann was commissioned by one of Los Angeles most important families to create his legendary masterpiece. Built of terra-cotta stucco, the H-shaped residence exhibits a perfect combination of Spanish and Italian style, with intricately carved ceilings and paneled walls, French doors, balconies, arched ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, which overlook the famous cascading waterfalls to the pool and the Venetian columns beyond the pool house.The Beverly House was built by banking executive Milton Getz.

The main level includes a 50 foot entry hall with loggia, a living room with 22 foot high arched and detailed ceilings, and the famed library with hand carved woodwork and staircase leading to second story wrap-around balcony and bookshelves. The billiard room contains herringbone parquet floors and a massive carved stone fireplace mantle from San Simeon. There is also a formal dining room, breakfast room, and family room with outdoor terrace accommodating up to 400 for sit-down dining.A garden level contains an art-deco night club, wine cellar, and one of two projection rooms in the residence. Another level contains spa facilities with a gym and massage room. The second story contains double masters, guest suites and staff accommodations. Additional features of Beverly House include a commercial kitchen, owner’s and staff offices, outside staff accommodations, lighted tennis court with indoor bar and media center, guest house above eight car garage, separate security cottage, separate two bedroom apartment and two story gate lodge with kitchenette and four bedrooms.In addition to hosting John and Jacqueline Kennedy during their honeymoon, Beverly House also played a character in the classic movies ”The Godfather” and ”The Bodyguard.”
