In 2018, popstar Kelly Clarkson and her now divorced husband, Brandon Blackstock, purchased their then brand-new home in Encino, California. The humble abode was bought at a price of $8.5 million and has undergone several renovations over the years. However, with Clarkson and Blackstock’s split, their real estate portfolio is experiencing some changes.

Last year, Clarkson quietly unloaded her rural Nashville retreat for $3 million. Then, earlier this year, she sold her lakefront mansion in Hendersonville, Tennessee for $6.3 million as well as purchased a vintage Toluca Lake estate for $5.4 million. Now, she is officially bidding farewell to her Encino residence after nearly a year of listing, taking down, and relisting on the market. The initial asking price was offered at just under $10 million but the sale was ultimately secured at $8.24 million.

Clarkson’s Encino home rests behind the gates of the prestigious Royal Oaks neighborhood. The property spans half an acre with 10,108 square feet and, between the main residence and the two-story guesthouse, presents a total of eight ensuite bedrooms and eight baths. Stepping inside, the home highlights formal living and dining rooms which are complimented by casual family spaces. The interior boasts an expansive great room with gourmet kitchen, billiards nook, and state-of-the art screening room. The spacious primary bedroom features a fireplace, separate seating area, private patio, and extravagant walk-in closet. Additionally, the space offers two powder rooms each with their own unique tile.

The taupe-stucco house evokes a “country” aesthetic with rustic yet luxe doorways and antique brick flooring. Teal velvet drapes offer a vibrant touch to the sweeping windows and disappear into the walls for a seamless transition outdoors. Stepping outside, the exterior space presents high hedges and dense foliage for privacy. The swimming pool is surrounded by a nearly invisible frameless-glass safety fence. For low maintenance lawn care, the landscape consists of faux grass and is perfect for entertainment with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and pizza oven.

With two of three real estate deals secured in the past year, Kelly Clarkson has been busy purchasing and selling homes. She recently bid farewell to her Hendersonville, Tennessee residence for $6.3 million after four years on the market and multiple price cuts. She concurrently is still looking to part ways with her modern farmhouse in Encino, California at an asking price of almost $9 million. Most recently, though, the popstar purchased a colonial style home in Toluca Lake. This property was last sold for $4.9 million in 2018 before being listed on the market in 2020 at $5.6 million. In the months following, the property’s steep asking price remained steady until recently when Clarkson purchased it at a slightly reduced price of $5.4 million. The listing notes this home as a “rare offering” in one of Los Angeles’ “most discreet neighborhoods.”

Clarkson’s newfound property in Toluca Lake spans 5,000 square feet and rests on an acre of picturesque land. Built in 1936, the colonial style home includes five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Later renovated in 1985, the estate includes a main house and guesthouse. Entering through the motor court, the primary home opens to a grand center hall. Stemming off the center hall, the home presents a great room, dining room with covered terrace, living room, entertainment rooms, and library all with fireplaces. The open chef’s kitchen is equipped with stainless-steel appliances, marble counters, and brick flooring. The octagonal glassed in breakfast room sits adjacent to the kitchen and offers plentiful sunlight. Upstairs, the master suite features a fireplace, midnight kitchen, office, master bathroom, and two walk-in closets. In comparison to other homes in the area including those of music legends Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Taylor Swift, Clarkson’s asking price was steeper. Failing to attract potential buyers, the price was substantially reduced to $7.5 million in 2019 before dropping once more earlier this year to $6.95 million. On April 19, a deal was secured and the home went into contract. While currently pending sale status, her stylish mansion was last on the market for $6.95 million.

Clarkson’s Tennessee home rests in a serene, forested cul-de-sac spanning 20,121 square feet. This extravagant yet homey estate opens to a grand foyer, formal dining room, and a gorgeous view of the waterfront from every window. Further into the home presents an open kitchen, adjacent family room, and comfortable dining area. The master bedroom features a fireplace, sparkling chandelier, luxurious bath, and bay windows overlooking the water. The property is also equipped with a variety of entertainment options such as a screening room, game room, cowboy themed bar, saltwater pool, and a dock with private access to the lake.

With one of two real estate deals secured, Clarkson’s modern farmhouse in Encino, CA is still on the market. Nonetheless, pop legend Kelly Clarkson is able to bid farewell to her picturesque Tennessee mansion after a lengthy four years and move forward from her former home.
