In 2014, Rhimes purchased another grand mansion in Hancock Park for $8.8 million. While Rhimes initially referred to the Santa Barbara Mission style architecture as “ugly,” the home has undergone substantial renovation with the help of architect and builder Bill Baldwin. The original 1923 design by Elmer Grey has since been restored to its former state as an Italianate villa with stone carvings and luxurious interiors executed by the White House designer Michael Smith.

Located in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, Rhime’s renovated estate spans 11,749 square feet and includes seven bedrooms and 12 bathrooms.
