In 2017, Matthew Perry purchased his lavish Century City penthouse for $20 million. In August of 2019, after two years of residence, his former home was listed on the market for $35 million. When the steep asking price failed to attract prospective buyers, the cost was reduced by 23% to $27 million in July of 2020. At the time, this was reported to be the priciest condo listed in Los Angeles. In November, the price was furthermore reduced to $23 million and was eventually removed from the market at the end of the year. It was relisted in April at $23 million before finally selling at $21.6 million this week. Although the final closing price is 38% less than Perry’s initial listing price, it is still the most expensive recorded condo sale in the city since 2015.

Designed by Robert A.M. Stern in 2009, Perry’s former penthouse occupies the entire 40^th floor of the 42-story building and span nearly 9,300 square feet of living space. The interior layout features four bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, expansive living rooms, and a spacious kitchen with center island. The extravagant master suite offers a curved glass wall, seating area with fireplace, dual closets, and dual bathrooms. The space also highlights four terraces offering panoramic views of the Los Angeles cityscape. Decorative elements include subdued hues and textured accents courtesy of renovations by architect Scott Joyce and designer LM Pagano. Other perks of the home consist of a screening room, billiards room, fitness studio, swimming pool, and three covered parking spaces.

Most people know actress Blake Lively for starring in some of the most beloved films and TV shows, such as Gossip Girl and The Age of Adaline. But what most don’t know is that she is an interior design genius and lover. In 2014, the actress launched her own website, Preserve, as a space intended to connect users with artisans, having her first experience with decor. The following year she decided to shut down the website, but her design side hustle stayed with her.  

She enjoys the job so much that she offers to design her friend’s homes at no cost, and this is not just for fun. Lively puts real work and effort into these designs, using fabric swatches, pattern work, and mood boards. 

In an Instagram post, she explained where she gets her inspiration from. She mentioned in the caption that it comes from simple everyday items and encounters, such as her own bathroom loose tile, her daughter’s clothes, and she even thanked her mom “for the sleeping disorder” that results in many productive all-nighters. 

Blake Lively also revealed in an interview that decorating weddings is another dream of hers and that a wedding planner is on the top of her list of ideal jobs, coming right after acting and interior designing. 

Even though she does all this designing for free, it has always been a passion of hers, and she even dreams of starting her own interior decorating firm.
