Diane Keaton used to own a Frank Lloyd Wright home in L.A. In 2011, she launched a table-top line for Bed Bath and Beyond. Her love of design has culminated in the publishing of three home design coffee table books.

Her latest, The House That Pinterest Built, is described as "a style guide, an inspirational tome, and a how-to volume on creating one’s home."

Diane started publishing design books because she wanted to celebrate the inspiration people get from seeing the design eye of others, "billions of people discover, seize and enlarge their reference pool with the variety of beauty allocated from others," she says in the book's introduction.

Frank Lloyd Wright's former apartment 409 at The Plaza, listed for $39.5 million

Wright lived in Apt. 409 from 1954 to 1959 while overseeing the construction of the iconic Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on Fifth Avenue. He died in 1959, and the Plaza condo was one of his last official residences (if not his last). The famous apartment was featured in Architectural Digest last November.

Wright’s former condo was "gut renovated" by Louis Lisboa of VL Architects, and interior designer Susanna Maggard in 2011. The master bedroom size was reduced in favor of expanding the living and dining room space on both ends to enhance light and views (also aided by large windows).

With all important rooms facing Central Park, the collaboration also created three additional bedrooms (one doubles as a den and another is wheel chair accessible with private entry). The architect was most famous for his organic architecture philosophy which involved designing structures in harmony with the environment. This included Prairie-style houses (extended low buildings with sloping roofs, overhangs, suppressed chimneys and terraces crafted of unfinished materials) as well as Usonian Houses (dwellings that were designed on concrete slabs with flat roofs and no basements or attics). He also incorporated Japanese art influences into his designs.

Wright’s organic architecture philosophy was best exemplified by Fallingwater, the National Historic Landmark residence near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania which is built partly over a waterfall in the Laurel Highlands of the Allegheny Mountains. Fallingwater was voted by the American Institute of Architects as the “best all-time work of American architecture” in 1991. The AIA also honored Lloyd-Wright as the greatest American architect of all-time.

Some of Wright’s other notable designs includes the Frederick C. Robie House and the Johnson Wax Building which were also honored by the AIA. Wright’s designs are perfect expressions of their era while timeless and impressive enough to stand out and attract positive attention in modern times. Now a new Plaza resident can see the world—or at least Central Park—as he saw it.

Billy Joel's Hamptons Beach Home

Billy Joel's fresh oceanfront digs has finally found a new owner.

The 5,500-square-foot home in Sagaponack—accompanied by a 145-foot stretch of private beach—has four bedrooms, seven baths, four fireplaces, and 180-degree ocean views through its glistening glass walls. It also comes with a two-car garage with a one-bedroom guest suite. The Piano Man initially purchased the home from late actor Roy Schneider, who built it back in 1993 as a place to raise his family. The residence's spectacular kitchen is all thanks to Joel's ex-wife, Kathy Lee—a chef and cookbook author who installed not one, but two Wolf ranges within it.

 Frank Lloyd Wright's Houston Home

The only Houston home ever conceptualized by highly acclaimed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the William Thaxton House—a 1954 Usonian designed to accommodate a servant-free lifestyle—was commissioned by insurance executive William Thaxton, who desired an artistic design for living and entertaining.

The home reflects a classic Usonian layout featuring small rooms that lead into a larger living room, designed to encourage family members to congregate and spend time with one another in the sizable center space.

Shaped as a parallelogram, the six-bedroom, seven-bath abode was originally only 1,800 square feet, though has grown into the 8,026-square-foot structure it is today over the years, gradually adapting to better fit the modern lifestyle. Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollywood Concrete Home

Now hitting the market for the first time in more than three decades, Frank Lloyd Wright, Jr.’s Bollman House is now up for grabs for $1.9 million.

Designed in 1922 by the famed architect himself, the two-story, 2,518-square-foot home sits on an 8,102-square-foot lot, and features four bedrooms, two baths, concrete slab floors, and a stone fireplace. In 1983, interior decorator Mimi London revamped the house to adapt it to modern day living, adding a new kitchen, bathrooms, and an expansion of living space into the attached garage.  Most rooms in the home, including the master bath, open out to a private patio and garden filled with tropical plantings.

Anheuser Busch Florida Home Sold

Adolphus Busch III, founder of brewing company Anheuser-Busch, chose Fort Lauderdale—known as the “Boating Capital of the World” and the “Venice of America”—to be the site of his winter vacation home, less than a mile from the town’s Atlantic beaches and the upscale stretch of Las Olas Boulevard.

His Mediterranean-style estate, Manga Reva—which just sold for $12.5 million, $2.5 million less than its original asking—is just off Las Olas, poised on an end lot jutting out into the Intracoastal Waterway. Designed by Addison Mizner protégé Francis Abreu, the 12,533-square-foot abode has six bedrooms, 11 baths, a two-bedroom guesthouse, and a 60-foot lap pool. Sporting 525 feet of shoreline, it also comes with a 130-foot dock.  The home— which had a smallpart in the 1960 film, “Where the Boys Are,” is arguably one of the best waterfront homes currently on the Florida real estate market.

Jane Fonda's Forked Lightning Ranch

Jane Fonda’s beautiful and secluded Forked Lightning Ranch—located 30 minutes outside of Santa Fe—is still on the market for $19.5 million.

Though originally designed by Famed Pueblo Revival architect John Gaw Meem, Fonda made a number of improvements to the ranch compound while maintaining Meem’s distinctive style following her purchase of it in 2000. The property—originally built by rodeo entrepreneur Tex Austin—still features the original hacienda, which functions as a guesthouse and barn—albeit with subtle renovations, such as an office and gym.

As the Pecos River snakes through its front yard, the sound of water splashing against stones and boulders gives the Spanish colonial-style, 9,600 square foot home a very tranquil vibe. With six bedrooms, four baths, high-beamed ceilings, swimming pool and bell tower, this home has it all. Fonda’s personal literary collection, art, antiques, Navajo rug collection displayed throughout the house, furniture, ranch equipment and machinery are also up for sale through separate negotiation.

The rumor mill is abuzz with gossip of Angelina Jolie having potentially purchased ultra-private Petra Island for fiancé Brad Pitt. The property is located on Lake Mahopac in NY and boasts Frank Lloyd Wright architecture right on the water...what's not to love?

Frank Lloyd Wright originally built a very small cottage (1,200 square feet) for the island’s earlier owner and went on to design (but not finish) a larger main house. When current owners purchased the property, they also purchased the plans to Wright’s original vision and constructed the home with the help of a historian.

The home boasts a modern design, fireplaces, mahogany and glass doors and incredible views.

Though the daughter of the current owner has tried to squash reports of the celeb purchase (according to The Real Estalker), the couple may just be trying to maintain what little privacy they have.
