In New York, for our contracts that got signed last week, the negotiation was between 7-10% off of the asking price... Josh Dotoli: "Compass has done a tremendous job of putting out a ton skill-building trainings for our team members so that, although they may not be as busy during this time, they are still able to sharpen their skills and reach out to clients... I think we will continue to see discounts. Like any tough time, the US bounces back very strongly, so I'm hoping by 2021 that we return to some sort of normalcy in our markets... This is an excellent time to regroup and to be in a position that when we really pull out of this, that you are fully optimized."

Faith Wilson: "(In Vancouver), our office is closed to the public. My small team is here, but basically it is just us... We have a policy in place on our MLS where it's documented on what has to happen if you want to see a property and then what we do over there to show it. There are masks, gloves, and only a couple of people that are showing at a time. We have been fortunate that a few of our properties are new and vacant, so that's helpful as well... For someone from the US to have a second or third home, it is a great lifestyle. There are great outdoors, amenities, shopping, and restaurants... It is a good time to buy. There is potential for good purchases... For al of us, our clients want to hear from us to hear what's going on. It's key that we stay in touch with them and give good advice."

Last night, in Miami, KAR Properties LLC, 2000 Ocean’s New York-based developer, celebrated the sales launch as well as the grand opening of the innovative gallery for the beachfront high-rise, which is the sole new development north of Golden Beach.

The 5,000sq. ft. gallery showcased a 7.5-foot scale model of the residential tower and utilized virtual reality to render the opulently designed residences. Aside from exploring floor plans, fact sheets and exquisite fixtures through VIP tours, guests could also enjoy interactive virtual-space presentations of the condominiums.

The developer, Shahab Karmely, and the exclusive sales team of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing mingled among the attendees and answered questions on the forward-thinking design of 2000 Ocean. Also on hand were representatives of the Italian interior design firm, Minotti, tasked with sweeping their first stateside project in luxury, as well as the renowned architect of the 38-story tower, Enrique Norten, of TEN Arquitectos.

By 2020, when 2000 Ocean is slated for completion, the 64 residences will be furniture-ready yet personalized thanks to Minotti SpA’s curated services. The all-stone kitchens and bathrooms will be custom-designed by Minotticucine.

“We are thrilled to share our vision of what we believe is a unique synthesis of style, luxury and the ultimate in resort-style living,” said Karmely during the event. “2000 Ocean is setting the standard for future developments and will offer an unparalleled quality of life for residents while enhancing the Atlantic Coastline.”

Ranging from three to six bedrooms, the residences boast price tags that start at $2.8 million. These high-end homes come with a glut of amenities, including biometric access to private elevator landings, two swimming pools, a spa, a Hammam ice room and an art gallery among other perks.
