The news marks Alatriste's departure from an almost decade-long tenure at Engel & Völkers. Having sold over $130 million in 2019 and recognized by the WSJ among the Top Ten agents nationwide in 2019, Alatriste has represented some of Miami’s most noteworthy properties and holds the distinction of most sales in Palm Island.

Previous clients of Alatriste include basketball greats Chris Bosh and Alonzo Mourning of the Miami Heat, Leah and Roy Black, and watch expert Rick de la Croix.

As head of the Alatriste Group, she is being joined in the change by her team, Mariana Martinez, head of operations, and Renier Casanova, to work from Douglas Elliman's Coral Gables offices.

In the past seven months, Gonell achieved two record-breaking transactions in The Residences at W South Beach, and another one in 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach. Several other notable closings are in the works with price points ranging from $5.6M to $10.2M.

Last June, Gonell set the record for the highest price per square foot (psf) in Miami-Dade when he navigated the purchase of UPH 5 in The Residences at W South Beach for $3,502 psf, as well as the highest price to date at The Residences at W South Beach for $10.2 M. Gonell represented recording artist and philanthropist, Ivan Wilzig, professionally known as Sir Ivan.

Just eight months later, Gonell has also closed UPH 2, ranking it the third highest sale in terms of psf in Miami-Dade since January 2017 - today at $3,289 psf. In his most recent transaction, Gonell negotiated the successful purchase of  PH 1617 in the ultra-luxury 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach for $5.6M on behalf of his client.
