A cedar-built home is the centerpiece of the McCaw Island getaway

Cellphone pioneer Craig McCaw and his wife Susan have placed their stunning private island on the market. The 780-acre enclave off of Vancouver, British Columbia is selling for $75 million.

Amenities rivaling a luxury resort justify the price tag. The island includes a 5,000 square foot cedar-built main house with four bedrooms, a gym and a Jack Nicklaus-designed private golf course.

The atoll also has a warehouse that was converted into an entertainment center, a store and accommodations for staff. The remote property also includes six guest homes.

An airstrip and a marina provide access to the island a mile off the Vancouver coast.

The island was a dynamite factory during World War II and was converted into a resort in the 1980s. McCaw bought the land in 1994. He said in an email that his family still loves the island, but he and wife Susan "have the perfect storm of kids' activities and no one wants to be left behind."
