Cindy Crawford was deemed one of the most recognized supermodels in the 1980s and 1990s gracing the cover of multiple magazines, walking runway shows, and serving as the face of fashion campaigns. She has since expanded into other ventures and in 1998, married nightlight industry businessman Rande Gerber. Gerber co-founded the tequila brand Casamigos with acclaimed actor George Clooney in 2013. In 2017, Crawford and Gerber purchased a mid-century modern home in Beverly Hills for $11.6 million through a trust. However, the two are now bidding farewell to their humble abode listing it on the market for an initial price $15.995 million last August. Since then, the price has been reduced to $14.75 million in May before recently securing a buyer. While the transaction has yet to appear in public records and the buyer’s identity remains anonymous, the home was last listed at $13.5 million.

Additionally, the celebrity couple have secured several other properties with two homes in Malibu, a vacation home in La Quinta’s Madison Club, and a cottage in Canada. Aside from Crawford and Gerber though, other notable names in the entertainment industry have inhabited their Beverly Hills abode. OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder and his wife, Genevieve, purchased the house in 2014 and spent almost two years restoring and expanding the property. Prior to their residence, the space belonged to film producer Gregory Goodman of “Jason Bourne” and “Captain Phillips.”

In 2019, Crawford spoke to Architectural Digest about her Beverly Hills home. “It's midcentury modern, so it's been fun putting it through our own filter. We make a lot of our upholstery,” she explains. “My husband is very, very picky about the cushion density and seat depth because he's taller.” However, Crawford also claims that Gerber “would sacrifice functionality for the look” in certain aspects of their home while her utmost priority lies in comfortability.

Built in 1959, the chic mid-century modern home spans 5,386 square feet and includes five bedrooms and 5.5 baths. The single-story space rests beyond gated walls in the posh Trousdale Estates neighborhood and has been completely renovated and restored during Tedder’s residence. The open floor plan presents four separate lounging areas partially separated by a dividing wall with sleek fireplace and wet bar. The sky-lit kitchen and adjacent dining area offer an atmosphere perfect for entertaining. The separate media room is equipped with sliding doors to provide privacy and distinct from the kitchen area. Stepping outside, the expansive exterior opens to a large swimming pool and spa with adjoining daybeds. The seating area is surrounded by a firepit, fruit trees, and art installations.

Model Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, purchased a lower penthouse unit at The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Miami Beach. The couple was drawn to the properties’ single-family units and an amenity-rich lifestyle.

This purchase is just one of thirty residences that were recently sold in the last 75 days at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach by the Douglas Elliman Development Marketing sales team from Lionheart Capital, totaling over $130 million in sales. The demand for luxury condos in South Florida comes from South Florida’s recent real estate boom. Buyers wanting to live in one of the most affluent neighborhood’s Miami are looking to making The Residences their primary or secondary home. The Ritz Carlton Residences includes 111-condominiums which are 90 percent sold, on top of the Penthouse Collection being sold – totaling over $51 million in sales.

The Residences offer two to five-bedroom homes, 60 unique floor plans, and sizes ranging from 2,000 to over 10,000 interior square feet. Besides celebrity couple Crawford and Gerber, other notable residents include Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Piazza, Miami Marlins’ Major League Baseball top draft pick Corey Dickerson, former Miss Germany Petra Levin, CEO and Chairman of American Eagle Outfitters Jay Schottenstein, and celebrity sports agent Jason Rosenhaus.

The main attraction to The Residences, however, comes from their wide selection of world-class resort-style amenities. These features include the world’s first residential art studio, 36 private boat dockages and private on-site captained day yacht, chauffeured house car, half-acre rooftop pool deck with private cabanas and restaurant grille, yoga, and meditation studio, kids’ room, a private cinema-style screening room and much more.

The property is located on a seven-acre enclave of Miami Beach and is the only waterfront project of this magnitude within this exclusive neighborhood. The Design District, Bal Harbour, South Beach, and Sunset Harbour are located a short distance from the area.

Milan-born developer and CMC Group founder Ugo Colombo recently completed the installation of a multi-million art collection at his newly opened Brickell Flatiron tower in Downtown Miami. The privately commissioned permanent collection features a series of exclusively produced large-scale paintings and sculptures by New York artist Julian Schnabel, as well as signature pieces by Italian artist Carlos Battaglia and Italian photographer Marco Glaviano, which are displayed throughout the 64-story building’s grand lobby and public amenity spaces. Works by Battaglia and Glaviano add to Brickell Flatiron’s Italian sophistication and are complemented by the building’s sleek interiors and custom-designed furnishings created by Italian design architect Massimo Iosa Ghini.

“Brickell Flatiron’s signature art collection complements the building’s timeless elegance and sophisticated Italian style,” said developer Ugo Colombo, founder of CMC Group. “We’ve spared no detail or expense to deliver a memorable product for our residents, offering the highest caliber of quality and design that will withstand the test of time.”

 Highlights from the collection include two dynamic pieces by Italian painter Carlo Battaglia: Visionario, 1968 and Visionario 7, 1969. Born on the Sardinian island of La Maddalena, Battaglia is best known for his abstract paintings from the 1960s, rich seascapes from the 1970s and ‘80s, and watercolor sketches of New York City made in late 2001.

A standout among Julian Schnabel’s custom prints and pastel-colored paintings at the tower is the iconic Sawtooth Lamps sculpture from his 2014 collection, fashioned from cast and plate bronze. The American painter and filmmaker’s large-scale pieces are materially and thematically monumental, drawing on a wealth of influences from Cubism to the practice of Cy Twombly and themes such as sexuality, obsession, suffering, redemption, death, and belief. Crowded with paint drips, dynamic brushstrokes, and found materials including broken plates, textiles, tarpaulins, and velvet, many of Schnabel’s works combine painting and collage techniques.

Italian photographer Marco Glaviano also exhibits two framed prints at the luxury condominium, including Dizzy Gillespie in the 27th st. studio in New York, 1992 and Sonny Rollins at Umbria Jazz in Perugia,1998. The Sicily-born photographer and architect pioneered digital photography as the first to publish a digital picture in American Vogue in 1982. He’s worked for leading fashion magazines and brands on both sides of the Atlantic and has photographed some of the world’s best-known models, including Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Paulina Porizkova and Stephanie Seymour.

Brickell Flatiron’s architectural design is the brainchild of architect Luis Revuelta, who is behind many of Miami’s iconic high-rises including CMC Group’s Bristol Tower, Santa Maria and EPIC Residences & Hotel. On the inside, master Italian design architect Massimo Iosa Ghini uses inspiration from Revuelta’s curved façade to outline the tower’s sleek interiors and public amenity spaces, creating a seamless transition from exterior to interior.

Massimo Iosa Ghini uses light as a key element throughout the project with contrasting soft and bright lighting used to distinguish the indoor and outdoor spaces and create a comfortable yet refined atmosphere. Unique vignettes with curved interior lighting mimic Brickell Flatiron’s shape while various Italian marbles line the floors and walls, creating a beautiful sense of movement. Each space, object and fixture is designed with careful attention to detail and the highest quality materials, as the combination of raw elements such as onyx, ivory and stone with warm metals like brass, bronze and copper convey a minimalistic and pristine ambiance. The amenity spaces also feature select custom-designed furnishings created by Iosa Ghini himself, as well as imported pieces that were hand selected for their bespoke nature and superior craftsmanship.

The tower’s 64th-floor rooftop amenities encompass a Sky Spa, Sky Pool and Sky Gym with 360-degree panoramic views of the bay and downtown Miami’s glimmering cityscape. Residents have access to a host of therapeutic services and other offerings including private steam, sauna and locker facilities, a 6,300 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center with Pilates, spin and aerobics studios. Additional features include a resort-style lap pool and separate children’s pool on the 18th floor, private movie theater with stadium seating, billiards room and lounge, clubroom, full-time concierge and 24-hour valet parking, on-site vehicle washing and detailing, and electric car-charging stations. 

Residences range from one-to-five bedrooms, with a limited collection of penthouses that include two-story duplex and three-story triplex units. Each unit comes equipped with the finest materials from around the world, soaring ceilings with recessed lighting, energy-efficient windows, and elliptical glass balconies.

Approximately 98% of the development’s 527 units have already been sold, which were originally priced from about $500,000 to $15.5 million. Remaining residences are available from $1.175 million to $2.35 million, and one upper duplex penthouse for $9.4 million.

She tries not to get so caught up in aesthetics that lifestyle doesn't get considered. Having a comfortable place to read or watch a favorite program is an important part of designing a home that's comfortable to live in.

Diane Keaton used to own a Frank Lloyd Wright home in L.A. In 2011, she launched a table-top line for Bed Bath and Beyond. Her love of design has culminated in the publishing of three home design coffee table books.

Her latest, The House That Pinterest Built, is described as "a style guide, an inspirational tome, and a how-to volume on creating one’s home."

Diane started publishing design books because she wanted to celebrate the inspiration people get from seeing the design eye of others, "billions of people discover, seize and enlarge their reference pool with the variety of beauty allocated from others," she says in the book's introduction.
