The Haute Leaders Dinners consistently turn out to be magical evenings where these leaders of their respective industries can connect and network in a laid-back and pleasing atmosphere. The latest installment of the Haute Leaders Dinner, hosted in collaboration with MG Developer and Pedini Miami, was no exception.

MG Developer's recent Coral Gables project, Althea Row, was revealed in full display to all present at the Haute Leaders Dinner. The gorgeous multi-story residence that hosted the event served as the model home for residences in Althea Row. Guests were welcomed with glasses of wine as they appreciated the stunning setting that would serve as the evening's gorgeous backdrop.

The gorgeous meal was provided courtesy of ZUCCA's Head Chef, Manuel Garcia. ZUCCA is located in the iconic Saint Michelle Hotel in Coral Gables. The Italian fine dining restaurant offers authentic regional Italian cuisine, artfully executed. As an appetizer, guests were served foie gras cylinders with quince puree, with prune and spiced brioche dust on the side. The entree for the evening was a beautiful braised wagyu beef cheek with truffle polenta. To cap off the spectacular meal, Chef Garcia provided an exquisite "dulce de leche" panna cotta with chocolate and hazelnut soil and coffee mousse.

The evening resulted in a great experience where a community of industry leaders was able to connect and enjoy themselves in one of the most beautiful homes at the heart of Coral Gables.

The Haute Design Network by Haute Residence brought together four designers from across the country to sit down and discuss the business aspect of their Design Careers.

"The Business of Design" webinar was hosted by Haute Living Media Group Senior VP, April Donelson and included the following designers: Rafaela Simoẽs and Laila Colvin of 2id Interiors, Karlee Coble of Karlee Coble Interiors, and Dorothy Alon of Sophea Designs. While interior design can certainly be an artistic and expressive career, when one owns their own design firm, the business aspect of things comes into frame all too quickly. The talented and successful designers explained the intricacies of walking the fine line between artists and business person all at once.

Here are some of the highlights of the conversation:

April Donelson: At what point did you decide to start your own design firm and was there ever a point where you ever thought of designing in any capacity which did not involve owning your own firm?

Karlee Coble: I started out working for other firms. Right out of art school, I had worked for three major firms before I started my own firm. While there, I learned everything from working with clients, to writing contracts, to learning how to get work, how to maintain work and so on. I found that every project is different and every client is different. So, I kind of worked my way up to my own firm and I got to see everything from other design firms. Once Had my own firm, it was organic and it just naturally happened. It was a point in my career where I was ready to be on my own and do my own thing and serve my clients in my own way. I had all the knowledge from other firms on how to do so. I guess I kind of worked it out backwards but it all worked out and it has been really successful.

 

AD: In regard to the beginning, the early years, what is the biggest lesson you got or the biggest take away you could share?

Rafaela Simoẽs: I think the biggest lesson I've learned has actually been to learn how to say 'no' to a client when you don't feel the chemistry or when you sense that things are just not clicking and you feel the relationship will not go well. Because I'm a pleaser, I always incline to try to satisfy the client no matter what but at some pint down the road, things get ugly if you avoid saying 'no.' So now, whenever I get that feeling, I would just rather not proceed and I move on.

 

AD: How do you integrate social media into your business? Do you see it as a positive or negative?

Laila Colvin: I think social media, for our company at least, is so major these days, especially Instagram. I would say we have more than half of our clients coming from Instagram alone. It's unbelievable how Instagram in particular is so important to us.

 

AD: What is the most enjoyable component of being a business owner?

Dorothy Alon: The best part of this business is the I can drive in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Venice, and I may not know the person who live in this home, but I do know how this house looks on the inside. We also impact the exterior of the house as well so philosophically, it's like we are part of the landscape of Los Angeles. It's exciting because you think of all the people who live in these houses and you don't know their names but I feel as if I am a part of their lives despite not knowing their names and vise-versa.

Howard Levine: “It is an interesting mix of our buyers. A lot of folks relocating from the New York area are coming into Coral Gables right now. What we are seeing is much more velocity and it is also spurring a lot of people looking to jump into that game. There seems to be present demand and people betting on future demand too.”

Dmitry Levkov: “Coral Gables presents an opportunity for families to enjoy what we call an easy living. It is a walkable city and it is very stable city from the economic standpoint. Prices have been very steady throughout its history. What attracted us to particularly to the MG Developer is their ability to create an oasis inside of Coral Gables. We think that they that the developer is very thoughtful and they really take care of every little detail.”

Patrick O'Connell: “The vision was to create a relatively low-density multifamily district adjacent to the downtown core Coral Gables, which created the walkability for the residents. The other components to Biltmore Square right now, Beatrice Row and Althea Rowe are concurrently being built. Those are the next two phases that are under construction and there is tremendous interest in those units right now to replace a single-family home with a large unit in either a condominium or a townhome.”

Julian Perez: “Coral Gables is a plan community in every aspect of the word. Based on the same concept of the late 1890s and early 1900s, the city has a strong financial footing on a city-wide strategic plan for every department. We plan on building upon our strong foundation to enhance the amenities and infrastructure that our residents, visitors and working professional benefit from.”

Aura Reinhardt: “Vibrancy has been one of the key elements here. Many of you know that coral gables continues to be a desirable destination. It always has been and continues to be such and it is based on many unique attributes that both the locals and tourists love, come here for, and enjoy. We need to be innovative and relevant. We have to continue to change with the consumer. Consumers are looking for a combination of creative marketing activities in their town as well as experiences.”

The 22-person dinner was held inside Marion Miami’s private room, featuring an assorted menu specially curated for the event. The evening kicked off with a cocktail hour of cross-industry networking, as well as sharing stories and experiences over the past year of their respective businesses and lives. Haute Media Group CEO Kamal Hotchandani led a wine tasting with Philippe Vasilescu, Managing Partner US/Caribbean Cellart Wine, and Olympic Gold Medalist, and Lewis. The champ gave a heartfelt speech and finished it with a toast in honor of Haute Living.

Alison Melton: "As I tell a lot of my clients where we have to make a market sometimes, reach out and find those sellers, match the buyers and the sellers, I am so grateful to have had that experience on the big trading floors in New York and putting together those deals because that has really served me extremely well during this market. The great thing about living where we live is we are only six hours from Palm Beach. We can get in the car and drive to where we want: Charlotte, Atlanta, We are 30 minutes from Savannah, an hour and a half from Charleston, and four hours to the mountains. It gives us that flexibility... We have been focused on luxury real estate in the Hilton Head and Bluffton area. Here, in particular, we have a lot of the gated communities, the private communities focused mainly on golf, tennis, boating, and equestrian pursuits."

Kathleen Floryan: "We have three bodies of water around here, so it's a desirable area not only for boating purposes but different lifestyles. In the luxury realm, I've been focused on gated golf course communities... My focus has been predominantly on the luxury side of things. We have three bodies of water around here, so that becomes a very desirable area for not only boating purposes but also because of different lifestyles. There's the ocean, there's Intracoastal, and there's the St Johns River all along which waterfront properties, as we all know, are very desirable. In the luxury realm, I've been focused on golf course communities gated golf course communities... We are seeing a huge influx of businesses into the Jacksonville area that didn't consider Florida before, or as Jacksonville has been known as the gateway into Florida, we're starting to see more and more people finding it to be logistically smart [to come here]."

Taryn Pisaneschi: "[Over the last year,] we reconnected with the lifestyle and the demand here. You get used to showing these properties with the amazing backyards and you forget people can be walking along the Intracoastal and they don't need to have the backyards and the pools; they have these amazing views... We were able to show everyone what we did during Covid to prepare for the surge. [This includes] figuring out how we coexist, how we do virtual sales presentations better, and just loving where we live, not just personally but being able to convey that professionally, being more intentional with our time, what tools we're bringing on how we communicate value. And then, the market exploded... My husband and I have been in business together for pretty much 20 years. We founded and sold several businesses, and that foundation and commitment to customer service has been paramount to our success in real estate."

Kathryn Shafer: "I used to have my own brokerage business, and then 2008 happened, so life has changed on many levels. Now, I hang my license with Keller Williams and the luxury division there. I worked my office as a legacy business, as a family office. I work with clients that I've had for many years and selling real estate since the 1990s. I've worked with the business managers and the CPAs so I can market and sell their multi-million dollar homes in the Bel-Air and Brentwood areas, but I also love first-time buyers; it's a passion for me. So I work with their kids when they graduate from USC and UCLA, working for that first-time condo in Downtown Los Angeles, or their starter home out in the San Fernando Valley... The sense of belonging that Los Angeles has really realized, and what the terrible last 12 months have been, [all this has] brought so many of us closer together. People are really learning to love the city again and it a completely different way."

Raimundo Onetto: "We have 36 different countries buying in one project, but what is changing is that we are seeing buyers from New York, Chicago, and Boston that are moving to this nice weather and city... In the past 10 years, it has been pretty amazing, what the city has done with lobbies and garages. I think that's an amazing opportunity to bring art to real estate. They are being pushed up through the design boards but I think it's not enough. I think we need to push it even more. Every project has the budget to bring something different and not just paint to hide the parking garages. We need to keep doing that with each project.

Jessica Goldman Srebnick: "Collaboration is really important. We are real estate developers but also advocates for art and artists and culture. It's important for developers to look at the marriage of art and architecture in different ways and support it. I come from parents that always embraced art. They were collectors and supporters; they walk the walk. It wasn't about just buying the art, but finding projects for artists so we could help elevate their platform. Artists are courageous. They have a way of amplifying what's happening during all kinds of times. They question everything and allow people to have deeper conversations on all topics. Art can change an environment, a project, and bring people to a community that wouldn't have [otherwise]."

Gary Nader: "When I told my father that it was moving to Miami, he said, 'Why Miami? With your experience, you can open in New York, LA or Paris.' I said that Miami was the future. I wanted to grow with the city, and I saw Miami was going to become one of the most important cities in the world; we are seeing that now. A huge part of that is the art community. Any building can be beautiful, but the only difference is the art that you put in front or inside of it... Miami is growing and getting more involved in the arts. When there are galleries that have 15, 20 venues in the world but not one in Miami, you realize Miami is a young city. These other cities are hundreds and thousands of years old. There is a lot to do in Miami with art, and that's exciting."

Ombretta Agro’: "One of the key aspects that is unique to Miami is that most of the known collectors are also real estate developers. This has allowed the city to merge these two forms and create neighborhoods and buildings where the art is completely interwoven into them. Art brings an element that goes beyond beautiful architecture, finishes and design because it connects people and potential buyers at a visceral and emotional level. Developers understood that art was setting a building apart and enticing clients to look at properties with a different set of eyes. We have seen lots of examples how this partnership can be successful."

Troy Simmons: "Miami offers so much. It's such a melting pot of cultures which leads to so many different artists coming with different ideas from different backgrounds, and things that they're going through, and experiences they've had. For the developers to think in that line, to move in that direction, is something that thrills me... Moving to these types of projects, it's a key point for the artist to be there during schematic design phases. It gives the artist and developer the opportunities to learn about each other and to really understand the direction in which the project is moving in, and the direction in which the artist's work can flow seamlessly into that."

Raimundo Onetto: "Due to the pandemic, we were forced to do things in completely different ways. There was a lot of pressure on real estate, but we were able to come up with new concepts, new ideas, and I think that is going to change how projects are designed in the future... I'm very proud of Quadro Miami. It's one of the latest condos that we finished last year. We spent more than two years designing it. We hired a famous artist in Chile to bring all of his ideas into the project. We brought the art and connected the Miami Design District with the project. It came out really nice, and sales are doing great. It's a boutique 12-story building with great views of the Bay, within walking distance to the Design District. Miami Beach is right there and the airport is five minutes away. What we are selling here is a new way of buying a condo in Miami. It's a concept of 'own, live, and share.' You can buy a unit and put it on long or short-term program. Snowbirds can have a unit here, use it for six months, go back home and still make money... We have seen a lot of domestic buyers from New York. They come here with their family and say, 'I'm going to try this for six months.' On foreign buyers, they are looking to keep their money safe. We add a little more to that. We offer them a product that they can own a piece of real estate but also use it without paying enormous amounts of expenses over the year... When Miami started opening again, we changed the strategy, focusing more on foreign countries but also starting the idea of reaching out to New York buyers, and I think it's been very successful."

Edgardo Defortuna: "South Florida is positioned to be one of the best places in the world and we are lucky to be here and in the real estate business... Quadro Miami is very appealing to the person that is not going to use the unit on a full-time basis. And the flexibility of being able to get an additional unit when people are here makes it very effective... Unlike many foreign developers, Alta Developers started by learning the market. They really got educated and participated in projects, understanding what buyers in South Florida is all about; they put their heart into it and build products for the lifestyle the potential buyer really wants and desires. Quadro Miami is the perfect example for that. They came up with a great location, with a perfect size for units, and a price point that the market is very attracted to, and created a program that you can rent it on a short-term basis. Alta puts attention to detail... In the early days, snowbirds spent a month or two depending on their location. What is happening now and for the last two or three years, since the tax reform of 2018, we have seen an incredible desire and motivation from northeasterners, Californians, and other high-tax states to move to South Florida. The effect that created was very significant, with major players moving to South Florida for the climate and the lifestyle. When they experience what it's like to live here, they fall in love with it... People want to start vacationing again, and South Florida is perfectly positioned to handle that. We saw that early on during the pandemic of people coming from New York, and they are still here. I see that repeating itself during this Winter season."

Dr. J. Antonio Villamil: "The overall foreign market has become more established. The seasonality that we saw over the decades of snowbirds has changed completely. With Latin America, Brazil, and Europe coming here to purchase real estate, we have seen a structural change over the last decade towards more inflow of foreign buyers coming in and purchasing real estate. The industry has adapted to it. Its flexibility is also a critical component long-term. In spite of the decline we have seen in the number of visitors to South Florida, the quality and depth have increased significantly... Once a vaccine is deployed effectively, we will be able to see a significant pickup in economic activity through snowbirds and other visitors as this is a key area to invest, especially in real estate... The Snowbird phenomenon has been going on for over 100 years. We get 127 million visitors in Florida every year. A good percentage of that is "sunbirds," who become full-time residents... People are starting to fly again but very cautiously. We do see more visitors coming into the state in 2021, especially to the South Florida area. We are now a global center for visitors. That creates a cushion in terms of the downturn. Things are beginning to level off; I find that this is a very uncertain period, so reaching buyers virtually, like Edgardo and Raimundo are doing, has become very important... The most important thing for Florida and South Florida real estate is the Federal Reserve's policy, which is independent of the Executive branch. There, we see the continuation of relatively easy monetary policy. Low interest rates are a key factor."

"Montague Real Estate was an accident. I sold out my diamond business in 2014. On a trip to Portugal, I came across a luxury real estate developer from Paris. I was inspired to what the real estate industry was like from an agent's point of view and said to myself that I would be moving out of the diamond market. I understood the luxury market and buyer. It was the time for me to get into real estate."

"We like to see ourselves as where wealth management, meets real estate, meets private banking. It's a melting pot where you give above average service to a client as they would be accustomed to in private banking and wealth management, but we do it for real estate."

"If we can learn anything, it's that you have to be adaptable."

"In the UK, from September through the end of the year, I think reality will set in when people release their profit and loss  statements for the quarter. The real severity of COVID on the economy will have an impact, and then we'll see how real estate looks, but right now there are deals to be done. If you are cash rich and in the market, you can buy properties for pennies on the pound."

"In the U.S., it's ok to take ownership of making something good out of a bad situation. In the UK, we don't do that enough. From a business standpoint, we have had a good past three months, and we are grateful for it."

"I'm looking forward to Art Basel in Miami, and going to New York. The only thing stopping me is being able to jump on a plane. Once those borders open, there will be craziness for the next two years."

"We will be in three continents by Spring 2021. I'm so proud of the team we have here, we do an incredible job from London, but we need to be in those regions if we're going to keep growing. I'm in love with the U.S. and have wanted to have an office there."

"We have seen inquiries from Hong Kong and Asia quadruple over the last months."

"If you have a willing buyer and seller, it's easy to do a deal. For us, to grow our brand and compete on a global level, we have to be better than the competition. You can't be nearly as good; you have to be better. The key is treating the people that work with you as well as you would treat clients."

"Anyone that thinks they want to do something in real estate, I saw go for it. The worst case scenario is you're wrong and you have to step back and reevaluate."

"We were able to get our TCO [during the pandemic] because we have an excellent team.

We have emerged very strongly [from the pandemic] because the type of product that we have created is the best alternative.

"There are two colliding forces going on in modernization. For 20 years, I have traveled around the world talking about the momentum of people moving into cities. We are now talking, within a space of four months, about people moving out of cities.

The perception of working at home will significantly change. We were talking about it 20 years ago, now it's a real possibility and people are doing it.

Co-working is here to stay. The flexibility of an office is more pronounced today. There will be more co-working and co-living. This type of project is an extension of that.

Management is accepting that work can be done without tying someone to their desk to measure output. The home has become the center of life – not just one of the spaces you enjoy infrequently.

What we can do is look at technology and see what can help us in this time. I think there is going to be these two forces… that we want to be social animals but also we have to adapt to the living culture.

Humanity was ready for a pause. It’s been good for humanity to focus more on the home and family.

You don’t need to be in the ocean or in the downtown to live in a luxury building like Metropica.”

Chad Oppenheim:

"There is inherently a great opportunity to really bring people into nature and celebrate that.

People are starting to find ways to reengage in the suburbs.

To create this lifestyle inside and out with all the different amenities has been a wonderful opportunity.

Michael Goldstein: "We have been busy for the past 14 days. We did $70 million [of sales]. It's a bit of pent up demand. Most of the buyers right now are coming from the northeast, they are leaving the City... We get people from everywhere, but I would say the majority is basically the Northeast. We're starting to see an influx from California, Texas, and Chicago. People are just coming down here. If you come to Sunny Isles Beach, what's unique about it is that it's one square mile surrounded by Golden Beach to the north, Bal Harbour to the south, and Aventura to the west. It's a beautiful small community on the ocean... The enclave is five restaurants, 45,000 square feet of amenities, 12 acres, and 1,200 feet of ocean. It's basically a gated community on the ocean... We are doing sales by appointment only. I have one salesperson who comes in daily that does floor time, and then the other salespeople are by appointment. So the idea is that we give each salesperson a two-hour window. The clients will have to be pre-registered before they get here. We have a special machine that takes your temperatures on a stand. We give masks and gloves to everybody... Delivery of residences at The Estates at Acqualina is fully furnished. [Your toothbrush] is the only thing you need to move into The Estates at Acqualina."

Dr. Wallace "J" Nichols: "chemical, number one source of awe, exciting, sets foot inside... water is the number one way to move into that blue mind state. What we mean by blue mind is that mildly meditative state of mind that makes us feel cool, calm connected, creative, sometimes courageous, and compassionate. It's a time when we get our best ideas. Architects, artists and musicians throughout all history have said that walking by the water, looking at the water is when (they) got (their) 'aha' moments and (they) need to write them down."

Vivien Sylvester: "We used packaging that can be recycled, single cell, looking good, simplification of things... We use packaging that can be recycled and we reproduce all marine actives naturally through blue bio-technology in the lab. We're able to take a single cell, take it back to the lab and regrow it through by bio-fermentation versus harvesting large amounts of products out of the ocean. Our products are about looking good, feeling good, and doing good."

We have amazing drone footage, which is a new thing, but it's not a differentiator." Dolly added, "It is almost impossible to sell something off a virtual tour, but it can help. We find that photography is often much better than anything else in reflecting a property."

Donelson asked Dolly for her advice to the younger generation of real estate agents coming up. "Stay the course," she said. "Know your data. Really get into the details of information. The only way you can get credit with any buyer is if you know the details."

Jenny added, "We all have time now to learn every new development. Everything is online. If a client knows something you don't, that's bad."

They are optimistic about the near future of the real estate industry. "We are fortunate to be in this business that can come back on a short term basis," said Dolly.

Three panels of experts, brokers and developers from Miami to New York, from the Caribbean to Los Angeles, and up the coast to San Francisco informed and interacted with the audience in the capacity-filled event space.

If you added the total value of the transactions of luxury real estate all of them have been responsible over the course of their careers on a spreadsheet, you would end up seeing multiple billions of dollars as the result.

The Summit started on the evening of this past Tuesday, February 11th with an intimate dinner inside the building's Armani Restaurant, where Italian cuisine was the star of the evening. Just like the panels that would take place the following day, diners experienced a three-course meal that delighted the palate.

]]> Yesterday, the “Miami Power Brokers” panel at the Haute Residence 2020 Luxury Miami Real Estate Summit closed the daylong study and dialogue about the real estate market in Miami and the broader South Florida area that includes Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.

The Summit had already featured two other, separate panels with a “who’s who” in the real estate market: developers, and international brokers. The local brokers brought it home to a successful and informative talk.

The panelists joined Moderator Alex Vidal, President of RelatedISG International Realty in a capacity-filled event space within the luxurious Residences by Armani/Casa (18975 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida), developed by Dezer Development.

They spoke about the current state of the real estate market in Miami-Dade and close communities in Broward and Palm Beach counties that are a quick drive up I-95 and enjoy the same South Florida weather yearlong. Other topics included: What makes Miami and South Florida such an active destination for many around the country and the world, contrasts between the renting and buying markets, the ins and outs of searching and asking for proof of funds from potential buyers, the impact of brand names on a project, and more.

When asked about the state of the market, Maria Eugenia Alvarez Vitale, Head of Sales of G&G Business Developments, said, “The market is good.” She is currently focused on sales of Aston Martin Residences in Downtown Miami, an area that she has gotten to know even more through her involvement with the British carmaker’s namesake building. "We are over 50% sold in Aston Martin Residences. The downtown area is booming," she added.

Phil Gutman, President of Brown Harris Miami, opined from the brokerage point of view, comparing the high- and middle-priced homes in the luxury market. “The upper part of the market has been doing well; the middle not so much.”

Palm Beach County real estate expert Steve Solomon, Senior Director of Luxury Sales at Douglas Elliman Real Estate based in Boca Raton, said, "In Boca Raton and Delray Beach, the market is very good. There are many buyers in the market. It's an active season for the $1-3 million range."

Vidal asked, “Besides the weather and tax incentives, what drives people to move to Miami?” Crista Ryan answered, "The wonderful security. We ride our bicycles and feel safe in our communities." She is based in Palm Beach County, where she acts as President of Tina Fanjul Associates. New York native Gutman added, “The quality of life. I grew up walking NY's streets, hearing taxis screech on the road. Here it's more laid back, but we have a lot of companies' headquarters in the area."

Participating as part of the “home team”, Senior Vice President of Dezer Development Sebastian Tettamanti spoke about renting versus buying. "The rental market is very active. The buyer is taking a bit longer,” he said. “Now that there is so much product, agents take clients to more locations. However, the product is moving and we are making sales."

Christian Martinez, Regional Vice President of Florida at Compass, said, "Higher listings take longer, but we see them moving. It also depends on the market. Certainly in Miami, Coral Gables and Coconut Grove have an active market” as he remarked on famous sections of the Greater Miami Area. He added, “Overall, New York money continues to flow into Broward and Palm Beach counties."

Partner and Private Office Advisor of Engel & Völkers Miami Lourdes Alatriste emphasized how members of the luxury real estate market need to research potential buyers for proof of funds. “At that level of luxury properties, you should know who they are."

]]> Haute Residence kicked off the Haute Residence 2020 Luxury Miami Real Estate Summit last night with a special dinner at Armani Restaurant inside the luxurious Residences by Armani/Casa, site of this year's Summit.

Some of the real estate industry's biggest names were in attendance, having flown in from places as far as the Cayman Islands, New York, and San Francisco.

The evening was highlighted by remarks from Dezer Development's Gil Dezer and Haute Living's Seth Semilof, who thanked all in attendance for what promises to be the best real estate summit that South Florida has seen. The three-course dinner of fine Italian cuisine included an antipasto option of Polpette (beef, pork and veal meatballs), a Caprese Salad, and Insalata di Cesare. The secondi included a selection of Bronzino (broiled Mediterranean sea bass), Parmigiano di Pollo Arrosto (roasted herb chicken breast), Bistecca (dry-aged filet mignon), and Tortellini Bolognese (classic red wine meat sauce). To end on a sweet note, the dolci offered tiramisu, alfajores (shortbread cookies), and a Lemon Sorbetto (amaretti cookie).

On April 11, discerning guests from around the country gathered at the recently opened The Seville NYC for a cocktail reception. Under the NoMad's James Hotel, the intimate, upscale lounge welcomed some of the most renowned names in real estate, including Dan Kodsi, developer of the signature Paramount Miami Worldcenter; Louis Birdman, developer of Zaha Hadid's last masterpiece, One Thousand Museum; Richard Steinberg of The Richard Steinberg Team at Douglas Elliman; and Charlotte-based broker and owner of Reside Realty, Matthew Paul Brown.

The luxurious ambiance inadvertently reminded of the star of the event – Paramount Miami Worldcenter, which is set to open in 2019, bringing an unprecedented level of luxury to the Magic City. The completed residential tower, clothed in shimmering glass, will rise some 60 floors high and offer a raft of amenities – from a spa to an indoor sports center to an observatory – that rarely come together under a single roof.

The cover launch preceded a private dinner for 25, hosted by Ultralux Interiors at Scarpetta NYC. Celebrity broker, Aaron Kirman, Jeff Miller of Brown Harris Stevens, Raphael Avigdor of The Raphael Avigdor Team, Sismai Roman of Ultralux Interiors, Olivia Hsu Decker, John Weber and Zak Smith were some of the few guests who enjoyed a delectable menu of Italian dishes.
