With temperatures dropping well below zero in the city, we're looking for warm and inviting places to spend time in and there's no cozier place than home. From traditional to modern designs, radiant heat flooring, custom stone patterns and materials, bold colors and a variety of fixture colors like brass, bronze and polished nickel are making bathrooms feel just as luxurious as the rest of the home. Here are six bathrooms worthy of a soak and glass of wine this winter.

Rose Hill

Nancy Ruddy and John Cetra, the husband and wife design duo behind CetraRuddy, one of the leading architecture and design firms in the world, brings a vintage Gotham-esque flair to the homes at Rose Hill a new 45-story luxury condominium tower in NoMad. Brought to you by the original builders of Rockefeller Center, the showers within the master bathrooms at Rose Hill boast a spa-like aesthetic with Greek Dolomite Honed stonewalls and Breccia Capraia accent shower walls. Aged brass fixtures are used throughout and dark marble radiant heated floors line the space just outside the shower. Custom walnut and bronze vanities with marble countertops complement the space.

Located in the heart of Manhattan’s “New Downtown”, 77 Greenwich is a new luxury condominium with a boutique approach to upscale urban living, featuring show-stopping water views, architecture by FXCollaborative and interiors by the renowned Deborah Berke Partners. In the master baths, the showers are enclosed in clear low iron glass and fitted with Hansgrohe Axor Citterio fixtures in polished black chrome—creating a spa-like oasis amid a calming combination of honed white striated marble floors and counters, and walls accented with wax-finished sycamore millwork.

NoHo’s 40 Bleecker is the first-ever residential building from designer-to-the-stars Ryan Korban who has imbued the interiors with his trademark over-the-top touches and mixing of styles. Custom-designing everything in the 61 light-filled residences with his classic romance meets brutalist touch, the master bathroom’s shower leaves no detail unturned. The flooring consists of Grigio dove and Calcutta moonlight marble layered in a chevron pattern, while the walls are covered in honed Grigio Dove stone. Lefroy Brooks Kafka collection fixtures in polished chrome are present, including an 8” rain shower head with ceiling mounted shower arm, multifunction hand shower, and hand shower with hook and adjustable shower bar. Korban also custom-created the marble vanities that are surrounded by a reflective layer of mirror and glass to amplify both space and light. The custom lighting design by Bill Schwinghammer, a fashion industry friend, perfectly backlights the space and is selfie-friendly.

Greenwich West is one of the tallest buildings in Manhattan's Hudson Square neighborhood, offering unprecedented views of the Hudson River, New York Harbor and Statue of Liberty. The interiors have been beautifully designed by star Parisian architect and interior designer Sebastien Segers, who is known for his work with clients such as Giorgio Armani, Christian Dior and his 20+ year collaboration with legendary designer Marc Newson. Detailed design elements and select finishes inspired by the past that also make a strong modern statement, create warmth and elegance in every space. A standout within the master bathrooms, the beautifully-designed custom glass-enclosed shower boasts Carrara marble walls and flooring. The wall-mounted shower head and separate hand shower boast Hansgrohe Axor Bouroullec collection fittings in polished nickel fixtures

Developed by DDG and Global Holdings, 180 East 88th Street is inspired by the pre-war boom in high-rise masonry construction in New York during the 1920s – 1940s, paying homage to the lost art of traditional craftsmanship while maintaining a modern aesthetic. The residences’ striking master bathrooms exude craftsmanship and attention to detail. Stunning showers feature rain showers complemented by Fantini fixtures in natural brass, as well as mosaic tile accented walls and floors and silver travertine slabs. Oak cabinetry with under-mount Duravit sinks, honed Bianco Grigio marble countertops and cove lighting complete the luxurious look.

We've all seen luxury condominiums adding in-house kids amenities like playrooms, daycare services, and outdoor playgrounds, but we rarely see accommodations for pets—until now. Owning a pet in a vertical living city such as New York or Jersey City can be difficult, particularly with changing weather conditions and busy schedules. These seven developments are designed with the pet owner in mind and include expansive rooftop dog runs to keep all furry babies happy all summer and winter long.

Extell Development’s luxury rental by Hudson Yards isn’t just dog-friendly—it’s a canine castle. Residents’ four-legged friends have access to a covered (and heated!) outdoor dog run located on the 12th floor, ensuring that no matter the season, canine companions and their owners will be pampered and comfortable. (So much so that residents can often be found with a glass of wine in hand at the dog run for unofficial social hours throughout the year) Additionally, 555Ten features services by “Throw Me A Bone” which has a facility on-premise, available to walk, feed and spend time with pups when residents are away. The building is so popular with pups that a handful of Instagram “influencer" dogs live within its walls such as @AvocadoTheDog. Other dog celebrities have come to visit the rental building as well for “yappy hours.”
